x3 on vendor and quality

5.29s + install kits, front and rear

Nitro? Yukon? Was there a specific brand that everyone has to go with? IIRC, 4WDToyotaOwner Magazine recommended Nitro Gears from Just Differentials in one of their articles.

updated numbers:

1- 4.56/master kit
13- 4.88s/ master kits
2- 5.29 / master kit

IIRC from a few threads a while back--theres a handful of brands that seem to be first tier quality with some even sharing similar manufacturers - just under different brand names. I will be focusing on the top 3-4 brands and any vendors that may be interested in a sizable group buy.

As mentioned before--- 15-20 interested parties should be able to leverage volume for a nice discount for buyers and a healthy chunk of additional sales for ONE vendor.

Tim,

Let me know what your final count ends up being. I can work things on my end for you as well with a couple of brands. Also, if anyone is interested in using OEM bearings, seals, crush sleeves, etc... I can help you with that pricing as well.

The OEM Koyo bearings have a different pitch on them vs the aftermarket Koyo bearings. Zuk, has explained this to me a few times and why the steeper rake is better. Don't remember half of what he told me other than they're better:hillbilly:

FWIW, Ken (Zuk) has given the G2's his blessing, along with the Nitro's. I've have both in my 80 after the front Nitro's broke. http://gearinstalls.com/kerry.htm

Speaking of Ken, since the weather is getting cooler here in Phoenix, he'll start working on gears again. Perhaps we can throw him into the mix as far as an installation group buy/discount.

Approaching the magic 20+ mark rapidly..............

A few more 100 guys and 60 guys are in. NOt to mention some inquiries about ARB's which many of the vendors carry.

I have emailed a host of Vendors today and will be updating everyone with preliminary pricing/discounts.

:bounce:whooooooohooooo---that makes 20! :bounce:

not bad for 3 days of interest:clap:

Today i was able to reach out to a handful of what i would call "Tier 1" suppliers/vendors- G2, Precision, Nitro, Yukon, Sierra based upon the interest in the thread for "quality" and "price". I should be following up tomorrow and over the weekend to see what type of interest/pricing/ and committment the Group can garner.

Im interested in 4.88 f&r master kits only. I've already got the gears.

So call me naive but if you have lockers the bearings/install kits cost as much as the R&P?

Interested if quality and price is right
4.88 f&r w lockers
master install kits f&r
maybe solid pinion spacers?

Me to...:hhmm:

For the sake of the "Group buy" im guessing most suppliers/vendors will want to make a "package" offer.........gears plus master kits since almost everyone needs the package with the exception of 1 or 2.

With that the vendors/suppliers should be able to be a bit more competitive with their pricing since the package price is a good 200-300 additional dollars prior to any "Group offers".

I think many of the Tier 1 suppliers/vendors ( g2, nitro, sierra, precision, yukon) have kits that use higher quality bearings with OEM or better quality which would significantly drive up the kit cost. Recall what the bearing kits were the last time you rebuilt your axle? probably on par if not a bit more bucks than the R&P master kits.

updated totals::

1- 4.56/1master kit
18- 4.88s/ 20 master kits
3- 5.29 / 3master kit

Rounding the corner and heading to 25 !

Im predicting we hit 30 by the time a deal is finalized and we can start ordering.
