Well, here's how she's sittin' as of right now. I'm thinkin' I'm gonna go follow the line up on the doors and the fender, but I got other crap to mess with right now, so we'll see what happens...

Looks good. I'd do the doors up the line and continue forward straight across first to see what it looks like, and you can go up the fender later if you want. You could also add something like a line of masking tape on the upper line just to check out what it would look like to have a line there.

ferg you crack me up man! i think it's cool that when you think something is cool you don't deliberate-you just ger 'er done (i'm in the middle of copying your rocker chop thing got them trimmed!). my little brothers cruiser is done in desert tan and the bottom is line-x'd navy blue. it is a sharp looking color combo. the only pics i have of it are a word doc so they cannot be uploaded, but if anybody wants them i can email them. let me know! my opinion is that it looks cool and serves a purpose. most of the time you have to make a choice between function and fashion, but the line x gives you both. DO IT!!!

so what other things are you working on that pig besides the paint>>???

The PO of my truck used a rubbberized chip guard type paint following the high-lines on front fenders to the low lines down the doors and rear quarters (and up around the rear wells). It was then painted over with the factory color and you can barely tell from a distance, only in texture up close. Nicely done IMO. Oh, it is also on the front verticel of the hood. I guess my point is a lot of these products can be painted over if the two-tone isn't ur thing.

PS: i love the mat black on the hood lines, i think I would keep mine just on the trapazoid shaped rise and not the small "wings" on either side. This shall be done what i get a roof rack with lights...

PSS: I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA I WANT SOA....there i think i got it out of my system, for now....

yeah it actually looks pretty "natural". there was a little overspray on the driver's side front wheel well, but not too noticeable.

SO what is the cost to do the line-x or rhino lining done? what about prep work? I as thinking of doing this to my dark blue (aftermarket) 60 only not going over the front fender just extending the line straight to the wheel well. I want to POR it first, would there be any reaction in chemicals? I know POR doesn't like xylene.

the prep work takes a lot of time, tape and newspaper. then you can just roll it on or spray it on with a compressor, paint gun and a tip for undercarrige. if you dont already have an air compressor and gun, i would roll it on.

i think i was quoted $400 - $600 from a body shop.

My ran me $700 for the job.

I'm having the rockers, fender flares and bed done on my tow rig, the wheel wells and interrior floor of both my cruisers; it works awsome and I kinda dig the look. For reference, most professional shops around here charge anywhere from $400 - 700 to do the rockers on a crew cab/ext cab FS trucks.

anyone try any other types of paint on the lower portions beside the truck be liners?
like boat deck paint? seems to be the same sort of polyurethane type paint made for taking abuse.would seem to go on alittle thinner. and not have such a rough surface.
thoughts?
Jason
