I like to create a thread for each cruiser I do any type of resurrection with. Main reason for this is to document my work and allow for others to provide feedback etc which is invaluable as I continue to learn more about these rigs. There’s another thread my buddy @CaptClose created years ago called “what the hells going on in Jimmy’s barn” which is primarily activities or smaller jobs I do for other folks.
It’s a long story on how I ended up with this 62. I talk a bit about it in the below video. It was a one owner truck purchased and lived most of its life in Los Angeles. Danny was the owner and took incredible care of this as it was his baby. When I met him it was obvious why he took such good care of this truck. In the short time I spent with him I knew he was a perfectionist and cared a lot for his minimal belongings. Anytime something wore out he never cut corners. He did not work on it personally, but paid to have all the right people touch it. Went to Manafre in 2012 when the tired 3FE had 300k miles and drove out with a 12HT/H55. Later had J with Trail Tailer load up all the bolt-ons. Somewhere in recent years he had an ARB locker installed as well as a Dobinsons suspension kit. The seats are from Icon. And Danny had them harvest enough material from his original seats integrating it into the center area. I have no idea what kind of seats they are.
At 400k miles the 12HT left him stranded after moving to DFW. This was where things changed as he went to the wrong shop. He was taken to the cleaners and lost the desire to keep her any longer. I have several other jobs at the moment so will most likely be a while before I get her back on the road. @BigHighBlue helped me pull the motor earlier this week.
