Replacing the alternator on a 98 - any reason not to put in the 100A?

I have a concern about the alternator on my 98 LC (182K mi).

The battery seems OK (it's only 18 months old and when I put it on an external charger it charges up to 12.8V). With the engine running I measure 13.5V across the battery terminals, but after driving the vehicle I'm finding the battery appears only half charged (12.4V).

Apparently the 1998s had two alternators, 80A (part# 27060.502.50) or 100A (part# 27060.502.60), and I've been quoted the same price for each ('factory remanufactured'). I could find out which one is currently installed, but I'm wondering whether there is any reason not to just go with the 100A regardless?

I used the 100A unit.
