I just did this this morning. Made a world of difference in the ride. I got my new globes from Cruiserparts.com for less than $400/ before tax.

I spent hours trying to figure out the best way to get them off without buying a specialty wrench or grind down a perfectly good one. With a little research I realized that a Ford fan clutch wrench is 36 mm also. I didn't have one of those, but I do live near a Pep Boys that rents them out for free. Went and rented their fan clutch wrench kit, brought it back, popped off the rear globes, and had it back to them in less than an hour. I highly recommend that route. Worked like a charm.

On their website it looks like $376.82 per globe. Right? Cruiserparts.com
IMPEX looks confusing and takes longer but MUCH cheaper for same parts.

Yeah I'm leaning towards getting them from IMPEX for sure
Placed an order and received an invoice but when I try to pay it says "sum must be an integer ".
Tried it again this morning and it went through. Used PayPal.

I used paypal as well, extra level of comfort. My globes shipped today. Takes a little bit to go back and forth with them, but in the end worth saving a few thousand dollars. Hopefully, I will have them in time to do this over the 4th of July weekend.

Whats funny is, although I knew it'd be saving a ton, I don't even know what my dealer would charge what have yall been quoted?

Not sure how Pleiades can be beat for $696 including three days shipping to my house from the UK. I actually had them on my truck in three days from shipping them out.

To each his own. Mine is driving fine so its not an emergency. I don't mind waiting 2 weeks for genuine Toyota and a fraction of the price.

$4400 with labor is actually pretty low. My local dealer is $4000 before labor or sales tax. I figure $5k+ with labor.

When the exact same part made by the same factory with the same testing/branding/packaging is priced different by a factor of 8, something is broken with the market.

This stuff is part of why the "Expensive AHC" myth started. Take out the inexcusable dealer markups and the parts are all quite affordable.

Wow. That really is nuts. This process has me checking out other avenues for buying straight from Japan I'm really looking forward to swapping mine out, replacing the fluid and making any adjustments needed and finally feeling the difference. Even at 345k miles my current is AHC rides better to me than any truck or suv I've ever had

I ordered my oem globes off of eBay and they shipped from Japan for $800+ tax and I believe it was $36 more at customs and installed them myself.

The installation is relatively easy provided the globes aren’t rusted on and the bleeders work.

Drain the AHC the way you do for a flush, unscrew the globe, screw in the new one, move to the next.

The work angles are a little frustrating and you may have to hammer and chisel the fat part of the globe to get them to budge, but the technical aspects are nil (beyond the bleed and refill of the AHC fluid).

Yeah getting the old globes off is my only concern. Everything on my old green machine seems to be stuck together like with a thin layer of concrete film. No rust though. That reminds me I need to order a turkey baster

I believe the same players (Amayama etc.) are on eBay, but they charge a little more than they do on their storefronts, maybe to make up for eBay fees they must pay.

I just had ACC in Atlanta do my timing belt. I didn’t feel like taking that on and I wanted them to eyeball everything else (which they did, and I’m grateful!). But I ordered all the parts myself, from Amayama in Japan and Dubai and Impex in Japan, and saved at least $600 even when shipping fees were figured in.

Did you move from Maine to Atlanta or v.versa I'd love to have a good LC shop in Nashville. There are are so many things mine needs to get it where I want it and my shop is good but always covered up.
