Anyone have a slick way of making the white lettering white again on the pull knobs of the dash of the FJ40??

Bet someone does.

Thanks!

Tedd at Cruiser Solutions told me how to do it once and I forgot. Call him up. Not sure if he'll give up the info. If he does, post it up!

white paint marker , wipe the excess off with a rag. there is a write up in the faq i think . or do a search .

A white crayon inside the lettering, wipe off the excess. And if you want the slick job, throw some clear nail polish on afterwards.

this very well may not apply to you at all, but sometimes, I've found that there's just grime in the letter grooves and some careful work with a toothbrush will clean it up. Hope that helps someone!

Also there is the guy on here who can make knobs that are either stock or does custom. If you haven't seen his work check it out!!!!

X2 on white paint then wipe it off.

Testers white hobby paint is what I use. Apply then wipe with a t-shirt gently. Do it 2 or 3 times and it will look brand new.

Also if you don't like the look of the new OEM pulls which from my understanding are the later 40 pulls you can pop the centercap out with a small screw driver and pop the old one in it's place. While it's out you can buff the plastic knob with some plastic polish with a small dremel and they will be nice and shiney when you paint the letters. Can buff the trim bolts as well. They usually come out nice and chrome again.
