.....Do your hoses? I don't like the clamp setup. I'd prefer something more secure. Crimped.

Is there a better way to secure the oil hoses? How would you boys do it?

About the hoses: I'm thinking that fuel injection hose would be a good choice. My Porsche 928 would only run with a certain type of hose. Gasoline is a solvent and will break down inferior hosing. Granted, oil is not exactly a solvent, but I really want to overkill this just so I can forget about it.

When we put a 2015 EcoBoost 2.3L in a 1972 Maverick, we installed a remote oil filter. Super simple. Works great. As mentioned previously, once you know hose length, have a shop fab them with quality AN fittings. I'm preferential to XRP, but there are several providers. Don't skimp on stuff like oil and fuel lines.

Off topic, but do you have more pics of this or a build thread somewhere?!

Nice looking install, but how is it to change the oil filter when mounted like that? Looks like one would end up with a large spill on the engine bay?

I installed the Amsoil remote dual filters years ago and their kit came with AN fittings. Cut the hose to the correct length and attach the AN fittings at the desired angles. Simple.

That's the first thing I noticed also. The number one reason I'm thinking of installing a remote oil filter on my '92 is so I can unscrew the filter without dumping a quart of burnt oil down the side of the engine and all over the axle and shop floor.

I installed my remote dual filters behind the front bumper, between the bumper and front core support. I ran the hoses through a hole in the core and over to the filters. They are out of the engine bay, out in the open and easy to change.

Actually cleaner. As soon as you shut down the motor, the system loses pressure and the filter drains back to the pan. Unscrew the filter, screw in new filter. No muss no fuss.

This is the way I've seen Amsoil remote setups installed. It's really clean.
