Mine have been great. Just double check that all your hardware fits.. some Amazon steel shackles won’t quite fit through the hole.
If you need cheap ones lol, the harbor freight ones work. I have those on the truck for driving around instead of my ARB ones because I didn't want the nice ones stolen.

Yeah, I really don't use these hard shackles anymore, and definitely don't keep them on the rig when not needed. They were from past iterations of my recovery bag, but I did try them to be sure and of the four I have one wouldn't go through the hole.

It was just a heads up for people to test their gear before they really need it.

This isn't the fault of the recovery point, just cheap chinese vendors with poor quality control. Which is part of why these aren't my front-line recovery stuff anymore in the first place.

Agreed. I will say my soft shackles fit, but its snug, not super fun.

Woohoo, saved 5 lbs between two recovery points. More importantly, I didn't appreciate how much lower profile @turbo8 recovery points are. Less things hanging down to hit is the big win here, and I've touched down with my stock ones.

Tried to capture how much lower profile. Here's them stacked on top of each other. The E&E point will sit half an inch less proud than this.

Yep, love mine, and the great design was a big factor in me eventually buying his skids.

Note that he machines these tight enough that not all standard metal shackles will fit through. I have about five total and two of them can’t be used. It’s so close it could come down to the powder coating on the pin.. just saying for those that still rig up with metal rigging hardware, test fit these before assuming they will work.

Would it be a stretch to get the smaller end of a soft shackle thru that opening?
Soft shackles fit, which are preferred. The hole diameter is 0.900" , which a 3/4" shackle with 7/8" pin should fit.

Thanks @TeCKis300 @bloc

Good call on testing the gear before needing it to perform. Looks like my stuff, both soft shackle and D-ring work fine.
