Did you every find anyone in Indiana? I am down in Bloomington.
I’m not far from you! In Columbus! I never did find anyone Cruiser specific in Indiana. My husband has had an ‘86 Toyota 4Runner for most of his driving life and has ended up doing 99% of my mechanic work.

Lots of travelling cruiserheads and many new owners would like to locate a reliable mechanic in their area, or know who to go to if they have a problem on the road.

It has been suggested that we try to establish a sticky thread for people to make personal recommendations for a mechanic they know well and with whom have done business.

Please provide:

City (or County) & STATE
Name of Mechanic
Phone number
E-mail

Let's try to get some solid recommendations for our brother (and sister) Cruiserheads.

Mike S
Thanks Mike
I'd like one near Los Angeles, Ca. If anyone knows a good one, thanks in advance

I guess I'll be first...

Gary is well known and respected in Northern CA, and gets customers from other states as well. He has done quite a bit of work for me, and for others on this board. Highly recommended.
Wish he was closer that's a 7 hour drive. I was hoping someone knew someone in the LA area?

Thanks Mike

K&H Imports in Canoga Park is your best bet. The old owner, Richard, sold the shop, but the new owners have really stepped up in the last two years. Basically, everyone in southern California in between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles goes here. I've been with these guys since 2014 and have nothing but positive experiences.

Thank, I've been using K&H for years now, they know the gas versions very well and pretty much anything else. Not so strong on the turbo diesels. I'll give them a shot at it.!

Boozer’s Cruisers (aka Boozer Built)
Owner: Daniel Boozer
Contact: +1 (864) 497-5480

This guy knows his cruisers. I just had him do my clutch, rear main seal, and oil pan gasket, and prices were very reasonable. He’s happy to install your parts too.

I can heartily recommend Overland Cruisers in Bozeman Montana. Steve and his crew are top notch mechanics and know Land Cruisers.

Steve helped me two years ago when returning from Alaska. I needed rear discs for my FJ60. I called Steve from Canada and asked if he could work on my truck. I expected the usual response I've heard from other shops , sure I can get right on it in two weeks.

Steve asked when I would be in Bozeman and said he would make space for me. In the meanwhile he got the rotors and a couple of days later I was back on the road. That is service.

My wife and I are on an extended road trip and we purposely went to Bozeman and Overland Cruisers for an oil change on our 200 series. I called and set up an appointment.

During the oil change, the truck was given an inspection and a sticking caliper was discovered and a prematurely worn pad and rotor.
Steve quickly checked on parts availability and we decided to stay a couple of extra days to have the brakes done.
Had this issue not been found, I'm sure I would have had an issue in the middle of nowhere. It is this attention to detail that makes Overland Cruisers an exceptional place.

I know on my next long road trip, I will schedule a service with Steve. As a side note, Bozeman is a nice place to spend a couple of days.

Know of anyone in the Flathead Vally?

Richmond, VA - Rob (@matzell) at Willow Lawn Service Center

Rob recently performed some work on my FJ62. Extremely knowledgeable, meticulous, clear communication, and seemed genuinely interested in keeping my LC on the road.

Aside from having a kick-ass mural with a 40-series painted on the building, he also appears to have a steady following of LC owners bringing their rigs in for work.

Check out Willow Lawn Service Center if you are in the region.

For anyone from the Netherlands or other parts of Europe:

City (or County) & STATE: Workum, the Netherlands
Name of Mechanic: Pier & Remco
Phone number: +31 (0)6-10933398
E-mail: pvank@live.nl

These guys are Landcruiser specialists, 40/60/70/80/100 series being their main points of knowledge, but I'd be more than confident to drop another 4wd with them.
They have done a lot of work on my '84 60-series, especially body work (I have pictures if interested).
I have seen them prepare cars being taken on trips from the Netherlands to Mongolia, Africa etc.
They don't just chuck them full of stuff, but operate under the saying of "Less is more".
Also, they are visited by heaps of Landcruiser owners from Germany, Belgium and Switzerland.
Down to earth guys, old school mechanics with heaps of Landcruiser knowledge.

Anyone in Indiana?
Does anyone know a good Cruiser wrench in Southern Indiana. I am in Bloomington and would be happy to travel to Fort Wayne, Cinci, Louisville, Evansville, Danville...any who down in Whoville.
I just relocated back to Evansville. I've updated and maintained my and many of my friends rigs over the last few years and daily my 60 series. I am not a professional by trade, but I have done everything from head gasket, fuel system, hubs, knuckles, suspension, electrical, desmog, etc. for lots of cruiserheads and other toyotas from my time in Florida.

Did you ever find anyone? I know Ed Martin Toyota on the north side of Indy works on lots of Land Cruisers. I know of a few folks who have had work done there, myself included.

Anyone know any good diesel (12HT) mechanics in the San Diego area? I have a guy that's close, but he's usually really backed up, and I need some "minor" engine work done.
