You might as well pull all the glass out while your at it. Going the next mint condition by the time your done.

Don’t tempt me.

-The recently installed new windshield needs to be removed and resealed because it leaks.
-The rear passenger side slider needs to be removed so it can be de-rustified. (If that’s out, my @LandCruiserPhil full wing can be easily removed since I installed with rivnuts)
-The belt molding needs to be replaced. (If that stuff is off, why not pull the windows out)
-The fender flares are all peeling clearcoat. (If these all come off for paint, why not pull the fenders for paint? That way I could also replace the acid etched driver side inner fender)
-The hood is peeling clearcoat. (Hood is already off, if flares are going to paint shop, hood can too and needs to anyway so it matches)
-The driver door is damage from someone trying to pry their way into it. (I have a replacement door…)

Dangit. If all those pieces are coming off and going to paint…DANGIT UR NOT HELPING

Started working on big brake project tonight, with many thanks to @Dirty Koala for guidance on how he approached the problem

Need a drill template?
It’ll be CNC this time. Just getting the first one done by hand to get everything figured out.

I need to stop reading this thread or ai am going to do something stupid and start pulling things apart.

thanks to @Outsane for sending an instagram post with a hack for putting dry ice on vertical surfaces so I could get the last bit of sound deadening off the firewall.

OEM sound deadening frozen like the Siberian tundra:

while it's not actually putting dry ice on vertical surfaces, it works just as well. got a case of canned air on amazon and went through about half of it on the firewall. worked like a charm. just have to hold the can upside down so the propellent comes out of the can and freezes one it hits a surface.

came off in mostly large chunks. any little bits left I just hit by themselves and they peeled right off.

certainly won't need to put these back in. EDIT: DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THIS. THE "TRANSMISSION RELAY" IS WHAT CONTROLS CDL

Had a little time over Christmas to chip away at this thing. Hushmat on the firewall, trying out a nice bulkhead connector in the firewall under the wiper motor. Then finally a high quality replacement for the OEM mass backer on the firewall (still need to finalize the penetrations). Now the entire vehicle from window sills down has a layer of Hushmat topped with a layer of Second Skin mass loaded vinyl. It was quiet before the cummings, hopefully it be quiet after too.

Trying to get this thing together for Moab.

Got it running, but not with enough time to drive test before putting it on a trailer to take to Cruise Moab. Will have to update thread with lots of pics of the process after getting back from Moab and catching up with work.
