On the new outside rocker there is a thin reinforcement plate that looks fake so it will be replaced by a stronger more oem looking one.
Took a template from the original one.

And put it on a piece of solid steel.

And used the mill to open the hole.

Thanks, lets say getting paid is a big word. It would not be worth it with full rate.

Started with test fitting panels. This is just to see how they line up, for the final fitting the doors, bonnet and subframe must be mounted.

Panels needed a little masaging but they are close enough to get them perfect.
Biggest issue so far is the height difference between the parvan and the fender.

Its hard to see but the fender is to high or the corner of the parvan is to low.

It does look completely different.

Whoa the mini looks way harder then a 40 to do rust repair on. Great stuff
It is, the later classic mini’s are terrible in rust prevention.
Being a unibody with large open roof does not help.
But it is a fun little project and it will improve my skills.

Small update, took the panels off and fixed a few ugly spots. This is visible from the inside.

All cleaned and primered with weld primer.

So is the new panel.

Panel tacked in place, there was some tension in the panel which made it a bit more challenging.

A bit more welding before the fuse blew and I called it a day.

Next I have to fix my spot welder And start with fitting the bonnet first.
