Added some rear sliders to match the rockers. I traced the pattern of the pipe on the plastic bumper end caps and the pipe slides in behind nicely. I wanted somthing that kept a low profile appearance but would still offer good body protection. 1 3/4" OD fits nicely in the groove below the body and still protrudes enough to offer decent protection.

I`m seriously thinking about doing the same thing with mine for pretty much the same reasons

How did you attach it to the frame (im assuming you did)? Im in the design stages for some body armor and would love to see some pics of how yours attach to the frame.

Oh, and its not really a big deal the way you are using it, but keep in mind that pipe wont give like real tubing, its brittle and will break. It probably wont get mashed enough to fatigue but it would do a number on that nice quarter of yours if it let go under load.

I don't necessarily have the knowledge or experience to back this comment up but they look pretty close to the quarter. Seems like the first time you really get to test them they might smash into the Q panel. Besides that, I really like the way they look. Way to go. Good to see something different.

I know everyone sweats Exiled's rig, but I am looking at his rear sliders all the time. Think I will be going with something based on thoe really soon.

cheers! mike

again, looks really good to me.

this is how I did mine will let you know how they work after nexted week

Hey kling on,
Do you have a rear view pic of that bumper? Did you make that youre self? It looks just what Im looking for.
Im getting to know the off road manners of my rig pretty well now, and the one thing that is burning me right now, is the "tail slap" phenomina...
I was thinking about cutting the rear quarters, and adding sliders for protection, but it seems the bumper would still be a problem...Yours looks nice and compact into the frame allowing for better clearance.

Nice job akarilo! That is a sweet pic of the 4 runner too.
