Just grabbed mine from the mail box. I cannot say enough about Jason's work and his customer service. He goes way past the extra mile. He makes sure you got everything to put these and go, including bit! thanks again J.

Anyone having issues with the nut and bolt? It appears the threads don't match. I can only get the nut to rotate a couple of rotations and it stops. Tried both bolts..

It's a lock nut. Are you trying a wrench or just hand tightening it ? It's Gonna take a little pressure

It is a torque nut. As @slacker24-7 states its requires torque to make it up. First 2-3 threads are easy.

So i installed mine yesterday. As others have mentioned, its a real quality product. If you wheel and you don't have these, i think these are an important piece of protection. I had to bend back the lower most part of my oem mounts to get these to fit because both the inner and outer walls below the control arm splayed outward because of the mount hitting rocks. Great product indeed!

I think the splaying out is a factory thing , mine were the same way and had never been hit, but easily fixed for the protection to slide over. My only issue was the axle moved a little after I pulled the control arm bolt, but that happens and easily pulled back in place with a ratchet strap

Mine were bent bent. I made sure to really chock the front and rear wheels. Don't know if that helped any, but mine slide right in.

Mine are "bent bent" also. I have a BFH already nearby from getting the tbars out last week. The skids look really nice Jason. In photos they looked a little plain, in your hand they look beefy and elegant.

Did anybody ease the corners to help get more paint build up on the edges? Anybody think that is worth it, for the rock magnet of the hundred series. Maybe some red paint to go with my tdog rears.......there's a theme growing here.

C, You could smooth/round the edges for more paint surface. But I think for the time to value ratio... I'd paint them as is and roll.

Nah - like any armor that gets used, these will require touchups. There's no paint on the planet that's going to stand between a rock and this metal being pushed by ~3tons of force.

How about black UHMW HDPE in black..........

How about black UHMW HDPE in black..........

It has its purposes but not for skid plates on our heavy steel beasts. The mines around here use it on the side of the trucks and carts for protection. A few guys got the 1" think material and made some skid plates out of it.

2 of the guys are cousins and seem to wheel their Jeeps every weekend. One used the 1" UHMW and the other used 1/4" steel. The 1" UHMW has been replaced twice in less than year. The steel, while beat to $h!T and scared up it is still standing strong.

Approx. cost breakdown:

1" UHMW -- 140.00 x 2 (replaced twice) -- 280.00 plus re-cut and time to replace
1/4" A36 steel - 23.00 x 1

Fair-nuf'

Cool to hear that it's been tried out. 1" thick uhmw would be heavy as sh-t too.

I think for motocross, lighter ATVs and sand rails the UHMW material is ideal. Our rigs are just TOO heavy. The mine carts can shred a piece of that 1" in less than 3' when they get in a bind. The trucks and buggies they use can go months, even years without changing them out. But its a light abrasion in comparison.
