This is trivial, but for some reason annoying me when I'm driving around and the rear jump seat is flopping / banging around back there when I have it in the up position.

The velcro came off one of the straps. I put a new sticky piece on there and it seems to be holding up good, but for some reason the straps seem to be losing the tension after just a few minutes of driving and then flop around.

I searched with only one hit on this topic which was no help (dead end post with only one response). I'm surprised it is not more common, but maybe I'm just missing something.

The plastic hook latched onto the handle with no issues. It is more of just it not maintaining tension after I attach the velcro together.

Picture attached, but not sure it really helps any.

I'm hoping there is some creative trick out there that someone can educate me on.

For the record: I wish the new 100 could some how incorporate the 1978 40 jump seat strap with the turn pin. Those things don't ever move!

We were having this issue on my son's vehicle, due to one side of the velcro pulling off the strap. Our temporary fix was to hook a relatively short bungee cord from the the loop on the strap to the vertical metal bar at the base of the seat.

Ha!

Same issue. I replaced all of them with double sided sticky Velcro. It didn't hold for long so i used fabric glue. Got it at a fabric store.

I got these for a few bucks at REI. I haven't put them in yet, though.

From the OP picture, make sure the spring loaded clip is fully around the handle. It appears that the squeezed together ends are still partially together. When I have my seats in and strap connected with tension, squeezing the end is how to release the tension. It the clip does not go around the handle, it will loosen.

here is what I did. You know those large black metal paper clips? like the one that can hold large legal briefs? I used those and the clamp great and they cost like $0.25/each

I had the same problem - the velcro didn't stick well enough.
I got hold of some good quality velcro, and brought the seat close to a sewing machine (actually put the sewing machine on the tailgate). That was like 6 yrs ago - still holding fine.

After the velcro stiching came loose I bought some snaps on amazon and installed them at positions equivalent to full tension on the strap. Really simple install and so far haven't popped out once in 8+ months.

Ditto on the sewing machinene. Got some HD velcro, pulled the old stuff off, took the 3rd row out and put it on the kitchen table. Got the wife's sewing machine and sewed the self-stick velcro onto the strap. Worked great, but still doesn't hold as well as I'd like. I may have to look into the snap. I've thought about a couple of small spring clamps, but then they'd end up lost in the back when the seats are down.
