anybody seen these? I went to remove the bolt but... hmmm guess some other means to remove? maybe exhaust stud removed tool?

maybe even looks like it's intened to be drilled out? what a pain. wonder if this is toyota or some other after market thing?
Looks like a tamper proof or one way screw, never seen one from factory. Guessing you could cut a slot in it and use a big flathead screwdriver.

I wonder if there's some weirdness about it being sold as a passenger vehicle so the buyer isn't supposed to remove the seats to make it a cargo vehicle? Like some weird Japanese or local regulation? I know my grandma had a Honda Civic way back in the day with little bars over the rear windows to make it a cargo vehicle for lesser import tariffs into the US.

Definitely looks like factory Toyota hardware... The fact that Land Cruisers are a global vehicle yields all these fascinating (to me, at least) little quirks associated with the need to meet rules and regulations in 100+ markets. Example: many years ago I imported an FJ62 from Venezuela. After a few months in the US I bought an Old Man Emu suspension kit, only to discover that the rear springs on the FJ62 were 4-5" *longer* than those on US-spec counterparts, part of some Venezuela-only spec focused on heavier-duty springs for more heavier cargos. A simple suspension swap turned into a relocation of the rear spring hangers. Those longer springs don't exist on any Toyota parts catalog nor are they listed in any other market.... go figure.
As others inferred, I too imagine this bizarre "one way" bolt is associated with some obscure regulation preventing folks from easily removing the seat...why? Who knows...
