Rear axel (1 Viewer)

Hello! I have a 1972 fj40 project. The previous owner Lincoln locked the rear end and I'm looking to just replace the entire axel or axels if needed. My question is: are there any newer model axels that will fit? I'm running 411 gears and wouldn't mind running a Lower gear for better highway mileage. Thanks in advance!

I'm thinking you meant higher gear ratio for better highway milage ???

The 1979+ diffs had 3.70:1 gear ratios. You'll need fine spine AXLEs to work with them.
