Quick help needed - Process of making half doors

The aluminum panels on that white door above look good and could be Rhinolined or powdercoated with a textured finish if you don't want to keep a bare aluminum finish.

I've got a set of Eshan's Paki half-doors and they have door panels. If you want OEM-ish looking door panels, you'll need to weld some kind of metal area just below the top edge and then custom fabricate a door panel. See the pic below for ideas...

Good work, i like the half doors, i have some started that i just need to get done. in the pic .. in the first thread from ccot, it looks like the back part of the door, by the door handle sits above where back fender meets the door, are yours going to be that way ?. mine are going to be flush with the rear fender, however very similar in design. how did you cut yours down ? Plasma ? i started with a cut off saw however it was not steady enough so now i am going to take them to work and get the plasma cutter after them. After all said and done, what are your final measurements ?

Honestly, it will be a little interesting to see where the doors come in line with the body. I think it will be a little closer to flush than the CCOT ones. I believe they measure close to 18 inches from the bottom to the lower section of the top.

We used a plasma cutter, which worked very well. Also used a saw zaw to remove the window frame.

Just left the doors at the painter who did my dad's bike. Should have them in 2-3 weeks. I'll be sure to post some good pics of it on.

Yours look about an inch shorter than the CCOT doors....theres look like they line up with the depression of the upper door hinge....

Yours look nice...Cant wait to see them painted...

I would like to see the finished product and see where they line up .. please post final measurements ....

They look nice ..... Again .. Good work ...:beer:

Those are NICE!

Finally got the doors back from the painter and they turned out great. My next step is to cut some ABS plastic and wrap it in marine vinyl for the door pads.

Added sound deadening material to the inside of the door. I was skeptical, but it's amazing how the door feels more solid now. I left the bottom inch of so uncovered so if water somehow did get in, it could still escape through the water outlets.

Yea, they turned out great...but I never installed them. Once I removed my normal doors and hardtop, I now just cruise around without doors.

I could be swayed to sell them if anyone is interested.

Man, those half doors turned out great! Inspiring work...i need to find a cheap pair of early doors and do the same thing.

I love thread revivals.

For the right price I'll by them. How much?

PM me if you really want to sell

Thanks
