question for the specialists - Pics added

After removing the tranny hump and cleaning the top of the transmission, I found a 6x6 sign stamped into the tranny cover and side. What's up with that? My understanding from the PO is that the transmission (4spd) came out of a '76FJ40. Any idea why the stamp would be there or what it's significance is?

if the stamp said "ford" I would guess he lied. What did the stamp say? what did the stamp look like?

I wouldn't worry about it unless you're having problems with the transmission. It looks like some sort of casting mark used by the factory for identification. Probably quite common.
