So much hot rod history out there since the golden age!! I know Ken and I have hot rod roots, as well as major cruiser Idis.! So cool to see you representing our favorite fj45 ! Stay safe brother, and make sure you have full throttle on that big 6!!👊
Did some test runs yesterday, Learned a a lot and had a few old school Salt guys stop by with some tips. Even at tech folks were coming up saying " This thing is so Badass " Pre break in testing averaged 85MPH in the short runs. Really got to ease into the throttle and let the motor catch up to the fuel flow. We will be on the 2 1/2 mile course Friday.

I can not help but think of the movie "the fastest Indian"

Please tell me, you are wearing an open face helmet and goggles!

I hope someone gets a lot of video of all this.

It was a long day today, Finished all my paperwork and did more test runs. Adjusted a few things and found a few problems. Everything is sorted out and I am feeling good about everything. 10 am tomorrow we will be lined up for our first run. Good Times

Here's a short clip unloading the 45 off the trailer. Leaving shorty and we will see what the day brings.

Still waiting!!! Hope the first runs went well...
Major learning curve for myself and the 45. 1st two runs 81 mph, 3rd run 88 mph, this morning 81. Salt condition, wind, temps all make a difference. Im making Major changes fuel wise, tire pressure and weight for tomorrow's final 2 runs

This is it. I have had 4 runs to work out the bugs and get enough seat time its time to get it everything we have. We have tested different tire pressures, adjusted some weight for stability and got the timing where I hope at the higher RPM's will give me enough HP to reach 100MPH. No matter what I am Proud of the 45 and the Team. I was told yesterday at the start line by the Starters " Kid ( LOL ) Your have entered into a Fraternity of Speed " So much history here.

Feeling a bit emotional right now in a good way. We chased a Dream and came to Bonneville. Made Epic memories and made new friends. We didn't hit our goal of 100 mph we did experience something most people just dream of. I ran my 45 on the Bonneville Salt flats. I can't Thank everyone enough. Wendy, Our Rusty Nail racing family, friends, Sponsors and Patrons. Our top speed over 6 runs was 87.790 MPH. Thank you all.

Its Crazy what people are doing with the 45. Re designing Matchbox cars and some AI stuff I don't understand LOL Pretty Cool

Kinda crazy today I am re packing the 45 to head up to Big Bear Ca for a TOYO tire event I was asked to join. All that work to drive 2 1/4 miles 6 times LOL Yes it was totally worth it and Yes we are going back next year. Lining up on the start line, looking down a straight flat white road with a large blue line painted down the middle, waiting for the starter to give you the signal. What a Great experience. It never mattered how fast I did it was being there. We were the first and only FJ45 to run the Bonneville Salt flats So Far. I am taking a break for awhile and not commit to any future races or events. Besides I have this new project to play with. 1959 FJ25 on a 1971 Frame and drivetrain.
