Wow...that is one nice rig!!!

No need to put in my two cents, you are in pretty good hands. Would love a 44 someday. Maybe I'll aim for a more recent 40...or if lucky a decent 42.

Enjoy the trip down...hope to see more pics when you get it home

you are missing the point.

a 2008 Porche is an expensive playtoy that can be replaced. big deal. you bust it up and you take the insurance money, walk down to the local porche dealer and pick up another.

this is NOT replacable, it is RARE. that is the difference. it is like a family heirloom that has been handed down from generation to generation and there is nothing like it left in the world.
then some punk comes along and uses it as a temporary playtoy and destroys it.
yah, it is his and he has the right to do what he wants...
but it doesn't make any sense to someone that see the ACTUAL TRUE VALUE of it past the $$$ value.

i am pleading with you to rethink your plans.

x2

ALOT I MEAN ALOT of people simply don't understand this concept. Every time a fairly rare car/truck goes to scrap or the wreckers we lose another one that will never be replaced.

I remember a video that was on youtube of a couple of teenagers killing a Toyota celica Alltrac turbo basically just running it into ditches and doing stupid pointless s*** just wrecking it... After my immediate frustration thinking what idiots I would have probably given them a few grand for that car easy, I was kind of left with kind of a sad feeling... lol maybe I found my sensitive side...

No need to worry folks. I am going to keep the thing as stock as possible. I did see that winch and I can have it shipped to our parts specialist her in town for $2200 plus taxes. As for the bumper I will order one ASAP also as I like the clean look of the old school bumper but not its flimsy build.

Wayne, you're hired for the install of the bumper, winch, and heat:D I will get you the parts and we can install them when we do the heat!

Having a hard time sleeping waiting for the drive on Sunday night.

Thanks for the awesome info,
P

I hope we can fit those old school tires on the stock rims. With the new bumper and winch I think she will be a good locking Cruiser. Wondering about a Turbo now:p

that is the bumper, plan on getting it repowder coated. the last 4 bumpers did not have the material sand blasted before PC. you could remove the coating with your finger nail.
id your truck 12V or 24V? make sure you purchase the correct winch. Dan at 4wheelauto also sells those winches for a decent price.

to be upfront, i will have to fit the installs into the schedual. i have a lot on my plate right now. but i will do the best i can.

best to contact me by email: wayne@crushersrule.com

cheers

your getting the idea, on a baby like that close to originality is prefered to purists.

here is the thing to remember, it is not original anyway. it is refurbished (and very well done from what i can see) so if you want to mod that is up to you. it is suggested to keep to the era to keep the feel of the vehicle.

i can do a turbo but best to drive it for a while first to make sure all the bugs are gone. we can do a compression test while it is here to get an idea of the condition of the insides.

IF it was my truck.
IF it was my list of upgrades.
(in no particular order)

heat
PS
H55F
bumper and winch
side bars (subtle in appearence)
turbo and gauges
snorkle
cage the rear
but i would try and keep the exterior as stock in appearence as realisticly possible.

but that is me.

i think you will love the new girl.

Hey Wayne, lets have fun with the new Rig and get that list of our done minus the 5speed. A snorkle eh, I don't even get my 4runner that deep:flipoff2:

When you say cage the rear do you mean a custom roll cage of some sort. Sounds very cool and would protect the kids if we do roll over:frown:

First thing we need to do is drive the thing for sure. I hope the f-ing snow stays away till Feb.

Thanks for the help,
P

Oh , ya not expecting the thing to be totally mint or it would have cost much more. We are selling one of the fast cars as I need something real slow for the road;)

P

I know probably wrong place to ask but do any of you out in cruiser land have any info on this company. They are expensive but seem to have their s*** together.

the way i view a snorkle is (the way i make them) to have a precleaner at the top and IF you would dunk the engine even once it pays for itself. plus i live the look.
since this is a mild off duty vehicle then maybe not but i have already sunk my wheeling rig a couple times since i moved back to Ontario. i cut my teeth at wheeling in the Alberta foothills and east slopes. wheeling here isnt all that different except the hills are not as high.

we drive, we dream, we design, we build, we enjoy. isn't that what owning a cruiser is all about?

yah, you are right, the price you paid was small in comparrison to doing a refurbishing. a properly refurbished rig can hit the 6 digits pretty quick.
i was seriously tempted to bid on that ride but i have too many toys already and no place to keep them inside. that is one RARE ride you aquired, there are many on Mud that are ... jealous.

i suspect it will be 24V but being from Brazil who knows for sure. got any detailed pics of under the hood showing the batteries?

congrats.

I do love the aggressive look of a Snorkle and things in Sudbury get supper wet real fast. I have those hold my beer and watch this situations happen once in a while also;)

This is the only pic of the engine bay that I have other than the one on the first page.

allow me to introduce you to the local club:
CA.ON- Upper Canada Land Cruisers - IH8MUD.com
you should say hi and introduce yourself.

they are a really good bunch. i am sure you will fit right in.
we are wheeling next weekend just minutes from my place. light duty wheeling, more of a scenic tour with a couple hills, a whee bit of mud and beautiful scenery.

that trailer, got a link?
Dave in the club just picked up a kicking little camper for behind his FJLooser. real nice.

i am off to work chat again later.

from that pic it looks like 12V unless there is another battery on the other fender...

if it wasn't my daughter b-day weekend where she gets her first motor bike I would be on the road by now. She is getting a fully refurbished 1971 Honda CT70 as her first bike!

That sums up very much my idea, obviously i would not wheel that thing. So a winch, snorkle and cage would be very low on the list BUT i think that a Old man emu suspension is a must and i would install 255/85R 16 tires. I think it could make a nice family camping / expedition type truck pulling one of those trailer. But if you plan on pulling a trailer you need a turbo AND a intercooler. And please do not chop the hood for a scoop.
