I have been through a number of cheap amazon covers as my 40's primarily live outside in a sunny dusty environment. All of the covers I have used to date been a thin plastic material and have given me about 4-6months of service depending on wind events and sun exposure in the Southern California Sun. I did experiment with some heavy duty military covers, but found them not breathable enough and things were starting to corrode due to humidity. I recently bought two of these Jeep covers as they were on sale, and am stoked that they feel much more durable than the other generic covers I've been using for year. They also fit the hard top 40 fantastically. They went on an even better sale recently, and I ordered up a dozen to have for years to come. For $25, these cannot be beat. Pictures to follow when I get home tonight.

Favoto Car Cover All Weather - for Jeep Wrangler 2 Door Waterproof 6 Layers Heavy Duty Outdoor UV Rain Snow Protection with 4 Windproof Straps Zipper Universal Fit for Jeep (167"-177")

Edited to add photos. The jeep cover is the one with neon green. It is much thicker than the universal covers ive been using (orange neon). It also has a softer felt like lining.

I have been seeking a cheap indoor cover to keep winter dust off my truck - this looks great!

CCOT's is pretty good
I saw CCOT's, but it looks very similar material to what I used for my sand car in my enclosed to keep dust off, its just a fabric, not slick plastic. It is not something that I would use outdoors other than an occasional overnight as it is not really water proof or water slick. It does bead up, but it definitely soaks into the fabric over time and saturates it.
I've had good results with California Car Covers. I've never used them for my FJ-40 but have for my Corvette's. They have several options from outdoor to indoor.

Thats a great link, I wasn't aware those existed. $180 for a lifetime warranty cover seems like it is worth the buy, its another 15% off in the cart, so about $150 plus tax. I'm sure there is some fine print that gets them out of replacing the cover under warranty though.....

I will say that the actual California Car Covers, are quite a bit more expensive, but probably a much higher quality.

For the price, you absolutely cannot beat it. I love the zipper giving full access to the cab.

Even though I park under a tarport in winter, it still gets wet and leaves blow in. For $25, ill give it a shot, thanks!

Curious how long ago they were $25? Currently just over $40. For $25 would buy a bunch of them. It also says delivery in one to two months, how long was the wait?

I ordered mine Thursday afternoon and it showed up Friday morning. The cheap price was a Prime-member only deal. I'm not Prime, but a co-worker is and ordered it for me.

They were $25 when I posted. Signed in under our business prime account, still showing as $30 each, but like you noted, 1-2 month delivery. I selfishly ordered a dozen before posting the thread, so i suspect MUD orders may have drained all stateside stock.

The first two I ordered I got in 2 days but I have only received a shipping notification for qty (2) of the next 12 i ordered.....fingers crossed they deliver. Even at 1-2 month wait, you've gone this long without them, just order them now and put them on when they show up?

I read that businesses that sell thru Amazon are likely going to pass on tariffs imposed on product that imported. I found Favoto is a Chinese company. Because I didn't want to wait two months for a top with a possible unknown price I purchased one of Amazon in stock for $26.99.
Installed this on a 62 production FJ40. These tops do not angle in on the side and back. The cap is also taller than later tops with Cromer windows.

@EWheeler did you ever receive all your covers? I ordered six and was notified I was getting them at the end of April. Order was split in two. It was confusing because it showed four and two. But when you looked further only showed two and two. Two finally showed up on the 28th of April and the other now show May 31st. That order now been split to two and two.

The other covers I bought were thru Amazon were by Aspaton. Haven't taken a Favoto out of the bag yet. Both are six layer and Favoto weights two ounces more. But believe those include two extra straps? The Aspaton cover been on since the 16th of April. It been fine until yesterday. We had some very strong winds yesterday. This morning noticed the top was up on the side with the shed next to it. The vehicle does not have door and believe the way the top pushes in on the driver's side put more force pulling up on the passenger's side. The straps are tied to the hub cap clips on the wheels. Those held. The top itself was find. What came loose is the tread holding the straps to top. Easy fix. I have things going on that going to keep us here well into June. Before leaving for anytime will used ratchet straps for high winds. Not concerned as much about being able to keep the cover on as much how the it holds up to desert UV.

I did receive all 12, I believe they came in 3 or 4 different deliveries over the past few weeks. All are Favoto branded (according to the boxes).

I have 3 installed on 40's outside. None of the 3 are strapped down, mostly because i'm lazy and their strap securing locations annoyed me. Of the 3, one continues to blow off in high winds, and that is on the 40 with the 4+ front bullbar and the extended rear bumper. I solved that issue with some spring clamps from harbor freight. The two other 40's have factory front bumpers and no rear bumper extension other than the bumperettes, and these covers stay put relying on the elastic in the cover edge.

I expect these to last much longer than the previous style i was using just on the basis of material thickness. It seemed the UV deteriorated the other material to the point it would tear very easily, so thickness should help there. So far, I have zero complaints for the price paid.

@EWheeler I ordered the 3 Aspaton covers separate. That because the Favoto originally showed end of April to end of May for delivery. The other covers are six layers and only a $1 more than the sale price on Favoto. Being from China was worried price would go up or would not be delivered. Still waiting on four covers.

For $26 will be happy to get one summer in Phoenix. Last summer had over seventy days of 110° or higher. Maybe could get a tarp from HF for that price that would last a summer but wouldn't fit as well and have to deal with bungee straps that lucky if that don't stretch out over the summer. I like the idea of HF spring clamps. But would probably use two at each location with something solid between to spread the area of the cover is being held in place. Would worry about cover tearing in a monsoon storm. I'm in the process of planning for a time we have to downsize to a single home. Not that concerned with couple cruisers currently parked outside. Those need to move on. It's the cruisers at another location I need to figure out.
