I'm going to be listing an OEM 40 Power steering box core in the classifieds tomorrow or wednesday most likely

I try and not buy stuff made in china because I don't like their gubernment. Quality control for almost everything has taken it in the shorts. Look at the B17 for example it was hard to shoot out of the air, now Boeing can't seem to keep the doors on. Almost all the new cars have several recalls before their first birthday.

Quality never goes out of style. Buy once cry once.

In 2006 I spent 16 weeks working in China and the people work very hard and are great. But I saw a lot of new construction going on and noticed that the buildings were falling apart before they were finished.

The OEM I work for invested money in a company that built wind turbines and we went on a tour of there plant. Brand new lathes were sitting on timbers and looked ready to wire up. They showed us a shack with no lighting and gravel floor for cutting with OxyAct torches with very poor lighting that managed to make inside through holes or windows.

The customer damaged the compressors by starting the oil system before they nitrogen system and galled the rotors. By the time I got there they were almost done with reassembly. After we started the turbine and did some test it was obvious that the compressors had issues.

The compressors were removed from site and trucked to a barge and a week later they were in norther China. When we took them apart the galling was so bad the rotors and bores looked like they were trying to cut rifling and had to be shipped to the States for repair.

The internals of the 40 box and mini truck box are the same. The 40 box housing was available new from Toyota recently anyway. Combine the internals of the mini truck box and new 40 housing and you have OEM power steering box on the stock pedestal. You will also need to find a 40 PS steering shaft or shorten yours.

Just because or proliferation, I'd do Saginaw again. The steering box in my 40 is about as popular as they come.
I also have the sag.
Install is a bit intimidating but if there is a problem you can head to NAPA. To be fair, I inherited the PS with the truck so I am not sure which direction I would've gone had it not had it.

I have the Vally Hybrid brackets and a 4WD mini truck steering box. I am on the fence if I will actually do that or go with the Electric PS from City Racer. Both have pro/cons -

But if @cruisermatt post doesn't work, I might have a setup minus the Saginaw parts up for sale in summer - dm me if you interested. Again I won't decide until late June earliest.

I'm curious if the lower housing on the 40 series manual box the same as the power steering? If so may be possible to build a 40 series power steering with the upper section of the mini box and a combination of parts in the lower section. Sector shaft from the 40 series to use the 40 series pitman arm.

I did a FJ105 box

FJ105? Do you mean HZJ105L?

No, they are completely different.

...unless yours is a 1984 model and you do not have to: manual and Power Steering shafts seem to be identical for this last year of production! I was really surprised, as well as the mechanic who did the swap (an experienced Australian Land Cruiser professional), but this can be a theme for another thread...

@cruisermatt hooked me up with a fj40 box to rebuild, shipped fast and even repaired some damaged threads before sending - much appreciated!. Contacted valley hybrids, they are going to supply the bracket and some hoses/fittings. Still waiting on the Amazon nut, I’ll send a pick when/if it comes! Any good sources for a rebuild kit? I’ve found lots of different part numbers on mud. Also, found an 85 4runner ps box and pump locally - some threads suggest this is the same as the minitruck set up and some suggest it is different and won’t work. Any thoughts? I have another cruiser that could use power steering.
