first I have done the search but have not found what I am looking for.

I have a 1973 fj40
SOA
gm 4 turn box off of a 73 olds. located and installed according to tech write ups on here.
not sure what pittman arm but it is flat
custom drag link
stock tie rod
old school re-bent stock arms to get high steer.

here is my problem
i can turn like no tomorrow to the passenger side but can hardly turn to the right.

wheel turns the same 2 turns from center
I have tried adjusting the drag link

both the drag and tie are flat
but the drag link angles back to the tie rod.

I am thinking that I might need a longer Pittman arm to get them parallel
but not sure.

I will try to get pics up tomorrow

To be sure- You're saying the steering wheel turns 2 turns either way from center, but the truck turns sharper to the passenger side?

When the tires are pointing straight ahead, is your pitman arm perpendicular to the draglink and parallel to the steering box input shaft?

Parallel is better, but some angle is ok. How about a picture?

sorry they are dark and not that good night shots with cam phone

Any noise from the pump?

I agree with Cruisinga that it quite possibly could be the angle of the pitman arm. better pics would definitely show that tho...

i had the same issue. three turns right one left etc.

the pitman arm isnt lined up right, almost as if its upside down and doenst line up with the groves let me go look

drag link too long is what it is
