You know reverse isn’t synchronized on all NV4500’s right?
I wouldn’t be concerned with how how it shifts with the motor off. Mine doesn’t really like to go into reverse with the motor off either.
What’s your process of getting yours in reverse?

Hope it's a simple fix!

When I completed my Isuzu swap and was making test drives, there were a few bugs. A smart Mud member told me to just drive it a few hundred miles, then correct several things at once, instead of one at a time!

Another suggestion of what I did for my Isuzu swap.

I kept all the packages with part numbers and wrote what the part was. Then made a book with these for future reference. Makes it a lot easier later to get a new belt, hose, or whatever.

Good looking swap. Enjoy!

Here's what you have with application (I just searched the part number from the links you provided)

Alright, so you have the matched master/slave clutch hydraulics set for a second gen dodge ram. Good, that means that you're using the appropriate throw slave and appropriate displacement master. Furthermore, you are using the correct flywheel and clutch pack.

Like matt said, it doesn't matter how it shifts while the engine is off. Given the parts above, you have an issue with assembly of the throwout bearing/clutch fork assembly (hard to mess up, but possible), or there is air in your clutch hydraulics.

Look up procedures for how to bleed sealed clutch hydraulics. Failing that, I'd replace the clutch hydraulics before pulling the transmission.

I purchased loctite 545 for the crank seal as seen on the Thoroughbred Diesel youTube video. It should be here next Tuesday. As far as the gasket goes. The tech just used Ford 7.3 Permatex to make the gasket.

I have a Fel-pro gasket. Should I use the gasket by itself, use the Fel-pro gasket with red RTV on the cover side only, or red rtv by itself? Jeremy uses red rtv on one surface only and sandwiches the gasket. Not sure if this is what you guys would do.

One day I'll get around to changing mine out. It's sealed with some sort of pooky and it weeping from the bottom or the front seal is leaking. Not loosing any oil between changes so I have been putting it off.
I have heard some say never install a dry gasket and heard the opposite as well.

These are meant to be installed dry.

Wife has been patient with the swap but spring is here and she wants to raise pigs again. The kids are in 4H so was a great day to build something else with them.

I think they wish it was their new fort but sorry kids. Now it’s got me itching to build a tree house and zip line.

Getting close.

Did you document how you adapted the master cylinder to firewall? That's on my weekend project list this week. I have some ideas but would like to see what others did.

A buddy brought up Speedi Sleeve as an alternative to the Cummins wear sleeve.

It’s thin enough to utilize the stock seal and not need another seal with smaller ID for the thicker wear sleeve.
