i agree 100%

love the air time photo, sweet.

I couldn't make up my mind on whitch way to go on the front bumper as I need to make provision for a winch!.
I finished the side steps and took it off to prep for paint, before taking pics! .
I also removed the bed completly, and moved the brackets by 25mm! The wheel arch is now centered!.
The front fenders's prep is also finished, will paint tomorrow!
I built a ressesed(spelling) battery box since the inner fenders came up to high.
 I have this idea of building the bumper out of channel iron.A bit heavy but will stand up to abuse!

Tonito ,Nice reg. plate!

one of my favorite

brayn, I've got more pics at different angles on that bumper. Its modular, the winch tray fits inside the frame rails, it's 1/4". the two wings are removable and bolt to the sides of the outside frame rail, the d ring hooks are 90 degree pieces that bolt on, and the bar over the winch bolts on top. the guy who designed it is named Felipe, he posts over in the 70 section.

Awesome build Brayn.Looking forward to the pics of the completed project. And a few more wheeling pics.:grinpimp:

Posting again

It's been some time....
One of the farm trucks broke so... Project Poenix had to evolve into a farm truck!
To make it more practical for farm work, some alternations were made!
These are the last pics of Phoenix!

Wow Brayn, it looks really good, sorry to hear that the direction of the project had to change...still a very unique vehicle for our part of the world.

P.S. Do you still want a set of wheel spacers, supplier is in Germany for 3 months, so no luck yet:eek:

agrred on the sadness that you had to turn directions with the build, it is a sweet rig.

Helluva farm truck!!
Nice build.

Oshinguru!!

I build,(I don't know what you guys call it) Bakkie-rails for it, cutting up the roll-bar!

Then put on some 750-16 on split rims on(The 33 MTR's is just too wide.Sticks, stones and Camelthorns like the fat side-wall!!)

One morning, after a whole night in the veld, hunting, one of the guys on the farm stood in front of the Cruza ,shaking his head and said "Oshinguru".Oshinguru means Warthog!I guess the name's going to stay!!

In a way the project Phoenix did come to a full(a new Cruza was born out of the ashes of the old!!)
I just ment it to be a nice goodlooking showgirl, now it's a warthog!!!
I guess I'll build another!!

Wow man, that is an insane build, awesome work!

I love that quote at the end; "I guess I'll build another!!" LOL
