So my wiring harness is officially toast. Im going to go on the hunt for one but in the mean time, I want to jerry rig up my headlights and brake lights in the mean time. Any tips on how to do it? I know I had brake lights on my buggies.....no real harness there.

Lash, you sitting on a harness by any chance?

Most of my 40 is wired with two conductor S.O. Cord. (Pretty much like black extension cord) available at any hardware. Pretty redneck for a resto but would work fine for temp wiring.

Sorry bro. No wiring harness.

Find a few wiring diagrams for the headlight switch. Run your power feed from the battery, then run the ground to the negative on the battery. If you wanted, you could add an inline fuse on the power side.

I picked up Patina today. Chris got me worked in and Rob hooked me up.

Motor. Runs awesome.

Wiring. I got a new Alternator. Rob wired it as a stand alone. Same as the DUI. So as for electronics I have a Toyota key, distributor and alternator.

How's it drive?

I puttered around the farm a bit

Badass!!

Way to go man. I know you've been waiting for this day.

Thanks @wngrog for the business. We really appreciate it. Glad you were able to put it on the road today.

Thank you and Rob.

The 40 drives great. I need to get some air out of the brakes still. After one pump I can lock up the fronts on dirt. It stops straight though and that's good.

Steering. Great.

Tracking. Great.

The springs are shot. Shocks do good but big bumps. I can tell the springs are beat.

Temps. I ran it hard and hit the thermo with my IR laser. 195*

After 5 min of idling it was at 165*

I'll watch it.

My idle was high on the drive so I popped the hood and started blindly turning Phillips head screws to see if I could lower the idle. That's when I realized the choke was still out 1/4

I pushed it in and the idle started loping and the truck died. I could not get it to idle smooth without a bit of choke. I'll need some guidance there.

Stoked. Lots to do but driving it makes it all right.

Man, that thing looks great.
