nice to see some progress! And that all those 62 parts seem to have found a home!

Yeah, the frame and body shell which I was afraid would end up in the scrap yard actually went to two seperate projects to keep cruisers on the road....... so it is good Karma all around:cheers:

There we go fixed it.

No wonder you don't call a guy back JP you are working on your cruiser again. Combine that with working on your house and general not calling people back and some of us may never hear from you again.

that about sums it up....... I was bad about not calling people back when I had all the free time in the world. It is nothing personal; well that isn't true when it comes to Chuck. I don't return his calls because he just wants free cruiser parts:flipoff2:

Looking good JP! I am a little disapointed though......You have on shoes and socks in the pic. Are you getting old and soft on us??

After our baby gets here and if Brian is still around we should all get together one weekend in the spring to wrench.

Man I have been catching more grief of late for wearing shoes.... you guys do realize it is Feb. and this is one of the coldest winters in decades;p Don't worry before long it will be spring and you will see pics of me welding in shorts and bared footed burning little holes in my toes :grinpimp:

and by all means Matt I welcome any wrenching help, come on down to NA:cheers:

I know I tossed around the idea of color a while back on this thread and I believe it was the yellowish green I had settled on, but after follwing Destins superb rebuild of his 40 in the 25 section I have decided to go with the color he used. Which I believe was Seminole Red..... attached is a pic of Destins recently painted 40 and it is beautiful!!!

Made some progress last night in the short hour or so I had to work last night. I basically just started stripping down the body parts in preperation for taking the tub off next week.

Most of my time was spent removing the windshield bracket screws and let me just say they are a bugger for anyone who hasn't had to remove them before. I even attempted to go about removing them the proper way by purchasing an impact hammer and using a butane torch to loosen them up ( in the past a drill of angle grinder would have been the tool of choice). All was going well as I removed all the ones on the passenger side but the drivers proved to be a royal P.I.T.A. as the pictures will show......... eventually the impact hammer gave way to brute force in the form of breaking the bit in two I had to take on drastic measures enjoy the pics

with the wire untangled I managed to have a little more fun with the welder and finally after about an hour of banging with the 2lb sledge and some welded up bolts the windshield finally yielded :grinpimp: Then it was time for the steering wheel to be removed....... I hope you guys that have worked with me before can appreciate the maturation in my wrenching skills. Note thus far the use or atleast the attempted use of proper tools i.e. the impact driver, steering wheel puller, and I even bought a tap and die set. In the past all these items would have been replaced with even a BFH or an angle grider with a cutting wheel!

The rest of the evening was uneventful as I removed the remianing misc. body parts.

And Marshall do note my Taj Mahal is filling up quickly........

Well I am out of town sking until Sunday so no more fun and games until then, have a good weekend fellas

The drivers side proved to be more difficult...... and my welding wire decide to go artistic on me which slowed me down:doh:

You do realize if you could have welded nuts on those bolts it probably would have been easier to fill a hole then weld around a bolt? I have to commend you on the whole getting the bolts out without screwing up the hinge. Makes me proud.

ALso I thought you bought an air compressor? You do realize you could have put that bit on the end of your impact gun and probably gotten the bolts out?

I hate mig wire. It has a mind of it's own.

Looking good JP. Your catching up with me.
