Well I just got the truck back from LineX
All I can say is WOW!
I went with a dark grey color
They did the driver and pass sides up to the bottom of the windows and the hood area
I did not do the back because I did not have enough insurance money to pay for it, but that does not matter
This is awesome!

looks good

good job!

That looks great! Bye bye key scratches. I bet you won't even blink twice the next time you go through a thicket of brush, or a tightly-overgrown trail.

Any idea how much it weighs? if you had the money, would you line the whole truck?

That looks really good - and really thick! Angry ex's can key it all they want! Your truck looks great with that bumper and those tires - normally I tend to think the 80 has an ugly front end (have to be honest) but in that photo above it looks super.

We figured it weighs about 60-70 pounds and it is almost 1/8 inch thick, it is pretty hardcore, way more than I expected
I dont think I would have lined the whole truck even if I had the money
The lower rear gate I will paint with the rough texture gray rustoleum

I was thinking about 2 toning it and using a satin/flat battleship grey for the upper rear gate, pillers and roof

What do you think about the 2 tone idea?

Looks awesome kid

Good to know. I went to the Line-X the other day to get a quote and hear more about their product. I think I'm going to do it.

I've been thinking about two-tone also. I'm going to do the bottom in black for now and may add a second tone for the top half depending on how things go.

How many colors do you really have to choose from? The website shows a fair bit of variety but I can't find a color/chip diagram anywhere. Do they do custom colors?

They can do custom colors
I know that they can color match your OEM paint
What they do is spray the base layers then top coat it with your OEM color coat
It is really pricey though
A guy had a tundra there where they sprayed his rockers and bottoms of the doors and such with the color match and it looked pretty good.
LineX is really nice but it can get expensive
If I did not have the insurance money I would not have done LineX
I would have done some sort of DIY

I doubt it - this stuff weighs about 10 lbs per gallon and I covered my entire truck in three coats with 3 gallons. You'll love it when you can finish it off...but it looks great

They used almost 5 gallons and it is almost 1/8 inch thick
So that would be about 50 lbs then
My guess was pretty close

I need some answers:
should I 2 tone it with a light grey on the pillers, back hatch and roof?

PRICE

How much you paid???

I just want to do the fenders, roof and lower back.
