Cheers everyone. Been working on my 60 for a few years now. Decided it’s time to transfer this build progress to mud forum where it belongs. Started as a crusty north East SUA 60 with 4bt/ranger od/Yota split case. Pretty much when I got the 60, it was gutted with just front seats. Hopefully it’s “hardcore“ enough for this section.

About a year went by and my clutch grenaded. It took several months to find all the replacement parts as the ones I had in discontinued. Advanced adapters hooked me up with a lot of info. Soon after I had to avoid a crash and hit the curb hard enough to bend the front axle. Instead of just replacing it I went SOA and did a few suspension upgrades while I was at it.

During conversion to SOA: did quite a bit of work: Aluminum rad and HO electric fans. The whole frame What I could get to w/o removing the body got scrubbed down and POR15. Welded up a rear bumper, secured the KDP, Rebuilt the injector pump, ps pump, got some 17s and bigger shoes. And other misc crap

After moving to Sacramento truck was pretty much just parked the whole time besides a few trips:hollister, pismo, rubicon and a few more. Addressed rust issue, insulated the interior, carpet, ABS door cards, and the whole interior went black. Over the years was buying bunch of body parts and replaced all the rusty crap I had. Purchased arb bumper and 60 got the rattle can special.

About two months ago I decided to replace ranger/h42 and built nv4500/ecobox/np205. Got the np205 twin sticked and rebuilt. Trans was taken apart, painted and resealed. Went ahead and purchased triple sticks from JB fab. My buddy Dan came over for a weekend and we got it stabbed and fabbed up a few mounts and crossmembers. Tom Woods hooked me up with some shafts.

And this is so far latest and greatest of the progress: purchased one of them trail tailor bezels and bought a bunch of rear defrost switches. Gonna replaced the stickers and use them for accessories. Also scooped up a warm winch for 40$, just needed two solenoids. Waiting for some more funds to buy speedhut gauges cuz I need additional two 2” ones for the bezel.

Nice setup are you going to center the rear..

Thank you,, honestly I will not be centering it. At the moment I can drive it up to 2700rpm without any vibrations, plus I don’t drive it daily just camping trips and events.

Rayjon you called it. Blew my pinion bearing because of the op angle. But I knew what I was doing so nothing new here. However in progress of lowering the truck and swapping 60 rear for locked 80. More centered and as a bonus I get a locker. On top of that summer here in Cali is just around the corner and I’m tired of cooking my family in the 60, slowly making hydro hoes and mocking up ac system.

Get those long E-locker splines turned down in the middle so you can get the axle out after you twist it with that 4BT powerrrr

Know this from personal experience?
It's a given that elocker splines twist in 80s with big tires, or with big motors. It's not a bad idea to do what he's saying.

Problem is, when the splines twist, you can't unlock the diff, and have to cut the housing apart to unlock it to disassemble.
