I still think it was Karma for flaunting all the features of your remote start at camp that morning.

Ha, quite possibly. Think about it, the starter has to work double when used.

Oem remote starter or aftermarket? Id like to add one for this winter. My 08 didnt get one from the factory

OEM, you can buy the plug/play module for a 2008 still?

The downside is you press the lock button 3 times to start, all good. But gen you have to unlock the doors to get in which auto kills the vehicle. So every time you use it, 2 start cycles.

Does the ARB skid plate come with new hardware? I had to remove all my skids this past summer to find a clunk and well, my hardware is no where to be found.
Thanks,
Ant

Yes it does. Let us know if you'd like to get some skids, we've got a couple in stock.

Kurt. What time do you open today.

Time for some updates... but Baja 1000 comes first. :D

Canguro Racing's Monica

In prep for the race I finalized my 2M/CB setup, mounted some Alubox's and finished up some other loose ends. I'll get some photos after the race!

Hopefully the new part resolves whatever starter/solenoid issues have been occurring.

Is solenoid relocation a viable option? Maybe it could be relocated somewhere easily accessible in the engine bay so in a pinch it could be easily swapped, or at least bypassed easily? I struggle to understand why manufacturers have moved to a combined starter/solenoid assembly over the years.

No, they use the solenoid both for power switching but also for engagement of the drive gear so relocation is a no go.

As for the starter, 28100-38040 & 28100-38041 supercede to the 28100-0S050

Does that apply to the 2008-2009 as well?

The solenoid works that way for all 200's

The Fauxverlander has been good to us down here in Baja

There you go! Safe travels and all the best on the race:).

Thanks!

We had a great race (see the Canguro Racing thread)

The 200 was most spendid. Other than @bryson treating every seat like a napkin it was perfect ;)

Hey Kurt, I'm thinking of making some protection rails like the ARB ones you have. I thought I remember you saying a real world experience where they saved the side of a truck one time. Would you mind telling the story and do you think there is a benefit to them in wooded trails?

One time... more like dozens of times. I've had them on Cruisers for over 15 years now, my 40, 100 and 200. I'll likely have them on my 61 soon too. In addition we had them on the Expeditions7 fleet as they traveled on 7 continents. I can't think of a single situation more memorable than one at the moment but I can think of quite a few instances where downed trees, thick brush or rocks were kept away from the fenders. That isn't to say each case would have resulted in fender damage and perhaps there is a case or two where there wouldn't have been any contact without the bars in the way. I'm not the worlds biggest fan at how they look BUT I am a huge fan of the protection they offer.
