The Prinsu is the rack I'm really starting to lean toward. I've got a question/concern about the fairing though. It looks like it touches the Cruiser at the bottom. It seams like over time that would rub the paint away even with the rubber edging. Similar to what you see on the tailgate of a pickup where the lift gate of the canopy rests. Those of you that have this rack, can you let me know if I should be concerned about that?
Yes and yes. It touches and overtime it will probably eat the clear coat if you don't clean dirt out the rubber often. I clean mine after every wash.

Wow! That's sad to hear. Glad I asked. May keep looking. What a pain. And what and eye sore.

It doesn't have to touch if you don't want it to, you can adjust it to a higher mounting point (lowest seemed like it would be pressing against the roof, so didn't use that one myself). Mine touches farily lightly with the weather stripping they offer as additional wind noise reduction. Have to say it is way quieter than my Yakima basket was on the factory bars.

Agree with keeping it clean under there, good call on cleaning it out when washing the truck, and wouldn't take any additional time.

I would recommend just using 3M tape like clear bra in that area. For me, my paint is already faded so the damage is already done.

If you leave space it might whistle and make a bit more noise.

It really is not a big deal takes an extra 10 seconds when washing the truck. Just run your finger with a rag underneath. I'd compare it to cleaning the inside of the door jambs where the weather seal closes. Any rack you get adds additional time to cleaning the roof. My previous rack (Baja) had 2 inches between the rack and the roof of the truck and I still had to spend extra time cleaning underneath.

My recommendation is don't waste your money on the rubber strip for $15. I mounted the fairing so it doesn't touch the roof because I had the same concern. There is no noticeable wind noise that way and I have a pretty basic mud/snow tire so it's not because the road noise drowns it out.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll keep it in mind. Right now I have the factory rack with Yakima bars and a wind fairing. Looking to get something that is more universaly useful and a bit lower profile. There is no extra time to clean it. Just wash the truck usually through a carwash.

Trying to decide if I should go for the light cut out on the fairing or not. Is the wind noise any worse with the light bar? Has anyone used a different light bar then the one Prinsu sells?

Thinking of picking up this rack for fun as a quarantine project. Anyone know of any deals and or sales at the moment?

I love the Rigid Adapt look with the cutout. But damn that light bar is $$$.

I waited forever for Prinsu to come out with one, but in the end I lost faith and patience, found someone who custom made a similar design rack for me and I love it.

What did the custom build run you @FxFormat ? Any close-ups of the build/installation?

Yes, RIGID are very proud of their illuminators...:hmm:

@PNWLX can you post a few more pics your Cruiser with the roof rack? Im just about ready to pull the trigger on one of these racks. Gonna give it a go I think. Trying to decide if i should go for the light bar or not.

I bought one of these a couple weeks ago. Couldn't be happier. Looks great. And function is awesome. Ordered it through Truck Brigade. They offer free shipping. Saved about $90. Decided to get the 40" light bar cut out. Cut out is actually about 43". I purchased an inexpensive 4WDKING light bar off Amazon for $105 and wire harness for $25. Don't have the light bar mounted but it looks like it's pretty decent. Will take some more pics once I have it mounted.

Rack is very quiet. I had a Yakima with fairing set up on there before. This rack is way quieter and I have not even installed the noise reducing trim.

My concern about rubbing the paint above the windshield is a non issue. Just moved the fairing up a little as @PNWLX said.

Ordered on May 19th. Got the rack one week later. Removed factory rack and installed the Prinsu in less than 2 hours. Pretty simple install.

Loaded some things on top and went camping last weekend. Worked great. Tried to make it to the table rock lookout. Had to get some downed trees out of the way and plow through a couple smaller snow drifts. A large snow drift finally stop us about a 1/4 mile from the top.

Had to hike the rest of the way.
