Awesome post above, @ToyotaMatt.

I did do it, but have not driven it yet due to life taking over this weekend.

- Thanks for the Toyota sealant part number. I used Permatex 85420 that I had on hand. It is not RTV, but a tacky product like you describe.
- Good to know on not using new stake nuts; I have been wasting money for a while it seems.

- A note on torque and matching the stake nut- the pinion nut was staked, but well below the torque it should have been when I took it apart. I hit the same location on the nut at 30 ft lbs putting it back together. It went to the second blue line below at 60 ft lbs and did not move again coming up to 144 ft lbs per the FSM.

Note- pinion nut not restaked when this image was taken.

Side note- Water temp sender wire standoff bracket is supposed to go on intake manifold or valve cover?

Second side note- must be heat from the headers cooking anything plastic or rubber close to the motor on this side. All the hoses were cracking and the water temp sender connector is disintegrating.

:steer: Got the 10% under drive in plus the part time spool and Tom Woods DC rear drive shaft. Drives great and a bit more pep from bottom to top. 🦀

Figured out the wiring for the fog lights I’ve had in a box for 5 years. I’m using the super cool, JDM 24v power outlet accessory for…power 🤓. I rewired the rear defrost button to use as a switch. Everything works! 🤓

For those that ever plan a Windrock trip; I highly recommend considering a combo trip and get a lake house on Norris Lake. It’s about 45 mins from the main Windrock store (main entrance), but there are numerous entrances to the park within 20 mins of Norris. I can give you locations for those entrances, or they’re very easy to find with a little bit of research.

It doesn’t get much better than a long day of wheeling and then jumping right in the lake. The Windrock bath house can also be atrocious when there is a major event going on like ATR or GSMTR. Their open field camping is nothing special (The Cove is much better IMO). We had a luxury house for less than $100 per person, per night. Renting a pontoon and cruising the lake was icing on the cake.

Why am I just seeing this post? Living it up, right on!

I'm heading down to Windrock in a few weeks for the first time. Tent Camping... And I thought it would be a step up from the Cove - :bang:

Fall Crawl can't get here soon enough!

I didn't know they had blue FIPG.

Blue RTV?!? ...the horror....the horror! J/K, it'll probably be fine.
LOL...it's what came with the TG spool kit, at least it's JB Weld, which is usually decent stuff from what I've found with their other products.

I finally swapped out the drag link I bent at Fall Crawl last year. Both old and new are the DOM Budbuilt units. I need to look up how to set the toe. I seem to remember a thread in the 80 section about how to do it with some angle clamped to the rotors. I'll have to get my search-fu skills going and find it.

Working on relocating the winch control box

Also picked up this sweet cabinet for the shop so I can finally get the random mess out of the big tool boxes and organized

So your one that you bent was a DOM Budbuilt too? If so, that's why I've been eyeballing the Delta 7075 aluminum ones that bounce back after a decent hit. I've watched a few vids on the same grade units getting pounded and bouncing back every time to straight again. That said, I'm sure that there are negatives too...nothing is perfect in this world!

Added a new Toy to the stables. 2015 Taco Limited bone stock. It was a smoking deal. Needs a good deep cleaning. Going to be the wife’s truck once the bugs are worked out. It has sat a-lot only driven once a month to the dump. It has 8000 miles on it.

Yeah, both are the Budbuilt DOM drag links. For $130 they're hard to beat.

Only way to improve that is if it was a 6spd. Fantastic.

I do miss my 2nd Gen Tacoma. Incredibly clean when I let it go in 2021. Loved it, but access cab + 2 car seats = bad time.

CEL that popped and magically cleared itself on the commuter/beater Corolla today. Lost VSC and Traction of course while the CEL was lit.

Ordered spark plugs, will pull/inspect/replace with new and start there. Has 182k on it. Coils next maybe. The intermittent nature of the CEL makes me wonder if it is is a damaged wiring or ECU issue.

My right turn signal has been working sporadically lately so I decided to swap out the switch today. I've had the switch on the shelf since I bought the 40 10 years ago. The turn signal stalk had been snapped and the PO used some black electrical tape to reconnect it. It looked fine and worked so I never worried about it until now. I had to buy a steering wheel puller from HF to get the wheel off. I also found out there's no torque spec for the nut in the FSM. I just snugged it down and buttoned back up.

Where'd you tap the header for the O2 sensor?
I haven’t the sniper will be coming off until it’s running right.
