what's the PVC pipe for?
Spigot on the front, you can barely see the blue handle on the front thats facing 45deg down, since its right next to the awning that he mentioned has an enclosure. I bet its a shower lol, as someone whos into slide in truck campers and glamping, i can't sleep at night without a shower myself!

or an enormous beer bong. that sounds a lot cooler. probably would need to upgrade to a 1/4 turn valve for better flow.

saw the spigot when i zoomed in and figured that is its designed purpose...fancy

Thanks...I'm thinking that I'd like to get the RTT deck lower for wind resistance while transporting, and either a way to raise it or at least the awning mounts higher when at a campsite. If I keep the RTT at it's current height (either fixed or movable), it also has the enclosure to go around the ladder for a stand-up privacy space for changing, etc.

I was pleasantly surprised on how easy it pulled on the highway, especially with my 4Runner...it has some suspension travel and isn't too harsh for a 1500 lb capacity, but didn't bounce around on some larger highway bumps like a smaller tire setup does. Should pull even better with a little weight.

Nice thing is that I could run it today with a quick update to the lighting wires...these were a little ghetto from the PO of the PO and actually yanked the ground off since it was a stretch for my 4-flat location on the 4Runner. One shock looks like it's leaking, so I'll get new ones, tires look decent and does have a spare rim that i need a tire for, but surge and hand brakes work fine, and shackles have grease fittings and well lubed. Just a little surface rust underneath, but zero areas of concern right now.

I'll probably put it in the backyard today and open it up...my boys and families are coming over for Pi pizza night tonight and anxious to see it!
Check with @Landshark he has one and does sleep in it.

VEVOR seems like a cheapo brand, but i've actually had a lot of good luck with any of their stuff i've bought. Not saying its the best out there, but for the price, their stuff is hard to beat.
Looks like a great option and what I was starting to look in to. Could always go manual, but I'd probably need 2 people to lift at the same time and then drop some pins in to hold up...this could be quite cool to use with the touch of a button with one on each side on a sleeved pole with pins to pop in when at various heights. I like the idea to drop it down that could double as a "lid" for the stuff in the trailer to keep it in place while transporting.

For the top tube, yes, it's mainly a water holding tank, but I like the beer bong idea too! PO said the valve leaks, but overall solid and has a nice cradle bracket that it sits in, so it's solid up there!

@CrabCake nice, turnkey package and all? i've never thought much about trailers, don't have much time to use all that, have no ideal place to keep one, but now i'm super jealous!

After 2 trips in a ground tent and seeing a trailer setup in person at FC, I realized that I'm not a great ground camper and hoping that this will really up the fun factor for me. I've had my eyes open since FC and after Relic, I was amped to see this pop up pretty much in my back yard as most are out in CO, UT, or further...plus very reasonably priced in my opinion with all of the included goodies!

I keep thinking about building a trailer, i've got my rangers old bed still and its light enough i move it around the yard myself. I have an old superduty rear axle i can put under it, but i keep thinking of using my cruisers original rear axle when ever i get around to putting the bigger 80 rear in. Have matching wheels as the cruiser and a hand brake!

I have always liked the idea of having a trailer with matching wheels and tires as spares for the tow rig... a spare on the truck a spare on the trailer and if need be the trailer wheels as spares as well... a full set!

Yeah, PO was going to do this with mine, but never did...he had some spare wheels that matched the OEM for the trailer, but gave them away. He did give me a brand new black wagon wheel that was never test fit, but should be the right one. I'll test fit when I look over the brakes and bearings soon, and if it fits as it should, I'll find a tire for it and figure out a mount point.

I wasn't sure of the camo paint, but after having it for a couple of days, I think I like it. If I keep the rack setup, which is very well built, I'll probably at least paint it satin black. One nice feature of the build is that it has 11 bolts that hold down the top rig to the trailer, so it'd take about 10 minutes to unbolt those and have a helper remove the entire setup as a unit without needing to pull off the RTT, awning, and water tank from the rack.

I've never actually been up in a RTT before, so I was very pleasantly surprised with how much space is up there and how sturdy it feels climbing up...I'm not the smallest guy, so I was a little nervous about this. My boys came over with their families last night and they loved it...and my wife actually seems to like it too! Maybe I'll get her out there one day when we can both be off for a weekend...

Still think you should smooth it down and have it sprayed in the same white as the 80 lol... Matching rims and tires too!! Maybe even Toyota emblems and all too

Got the RCI sliders onto the 4Runner this morning. 5 degree with a kick out and no top plate. But also ordered the top plate that can go on or off with a few bolts anytime without removing the sliders from the truck- pretty trick- and so far it looks like kids can easily climb in and out even without the top plate. They're stout too. This concludes the build for Easter Bunny II. Pretty stoked.

Looking great! I'd like to see your setup if you'll be at the meeting on Wednesday...

For those that knew my issue at Relic, I started having a miss/stumble on the trail on the 2nd day...cleared up with the ECU fuse pull, but back on the 3rd day about halfway through the trails...didn't stop me as low gear still had more than enough torque, especially with the extra low crawl gear that I have. On the way home the next day for 400 miles, it was off and on and very erratic...never made me stall, but made me nervous and slow! Finally had a full on miss for the last 20-25 miles to get home.

To diagnose, I started with plug wire pulls at the distributor. # 5 seemed funky, so I went ahead and pulled all plugs...5 was slightly darker so it seemed like it could be the culprit even though the tune up was done about 12k miles and 18 months ago. Got the new plugs, wires, cap, rotor installed and test drove...was great for the first 5 minutes....and then started stumbling again like a drunken fool.

Got home, did a little internet searching, and decided to go old school to start...sprayed carb cleaner everywhere to try and find a vac leak, but no luck. Then I just literally started pushing and poking at all electrical connectors that I could reach while it was running....got to the EGR delete plug with a custom made resistor and ball bearings in the vac lines to disable the EGR for reduced heat...Bingo! Started bumping the engine tone a bit when wiggling around. Removed the delete kit and seems to be back to perfect running order again....I need to do a longer test drive, but it failed in half the distance the first time than what I went for on the 2nd drive with no issues.

Hopefully all good now! That said, I did a compression check and #6 is weak...most were at 175-190, and 6 was at 125. Time to start collecting parts for a full blown rebuild in the near (winter?) future, but running strong at this point still and pulled to 80 with no problems on the highway. Maybe I'll find some new power with a fresh rebuild, but happy to crawl again this summer as-is!

I would put that top plate on. I could see that little kid, slipping his foot into the hole and breaking his angle, leg, foot etc! Just my observation. I have seen adults do this. I just bought WKO sliders for my 80 and got the top plate for that very reason. Good luck.

Thanks. Noted.

Got the cruiser cleaned up today...was going to do the boat first, but it wouldn't start, so I moved on as I already had my power washer out. Also got it paired up with the trailer rig which I'm really happy with. The more I research, the happier I am with the deal...the RTT with annex is going new for $1800 +, and the Zero 63 awning is about $800. I'd already be in to it for $2600 if I bought just those 2 items new...that gets me the trailer for $400 with the custom mount rails and stainless hardware that cost that much for the cage hardware alone...ok, a free trailer is how I see it!

I do need to do a little work...got new shocks and will re-do lighting to start. Now that I hooked it up to the 80, it sits pretty much level and gives me a clean line of sight in my rear view, so I may just leave well enough alone and not monkey with the cage setup for now as it's solid as a rock. I may paint the zinc rails, but that's just for cosmetics. I may end up doing new brake lines as well, but we'll see what the inspector has to say once I get it ready for that.
