I just replaced the tires on the boat trailer. How do I get these shackles pointed down?

got my apex air - line spool mounted. their factory brackets are nice, but needed a custom piece for my setup. mocked it up with cardbaord to start - using the PowerTank mounting sled as my anchor point...

did 1/8" stainless from SendCutSend. bumbled my way through Fusion360, first project on it...

dry fit...

using 90deg elbow to get the feed line back to the PowerTank...

fits well...

Big pry bar

Finished the free Coleman 424. I used paint I had on hand rather than trying to match the coleman green, so this one is krylon sand.

It was bad to start as it had been a mouse castle for a while and probably should have been thrown away. The stove itself was so bad the dogs would bark at it. Even the burner manifold smelled terrible when hot so everything had to be powerwashed and soaked in bleach.

Probably not worth the effort, but it was a free dumpster salvage and I think it turned out nice.

I think I will keep this one as it runs great, even on pump gas.

Saturday morning I Towed my fathers 55 belair down to a buddy's shop for some interior paint work. Respray the jambs, dash, steering column and new steering wheel.

Helped a new local guy install a snorkel on his 40th 80. Military guy moved here from CA, a well built 80 with all delta armor. I'll get him out to a meeting

@DC470 came over as well and hammered his pinch welds flat to stop the tire rubbing and readjusted his sliders

That's a real beaut.

Installed the Cornfed 1/2" front spacers (yields a 1" lift), the RCI engine skid, and RCI filler plate on the new rig today. Got the 255/75r17 (32") C Rated KO2s installed last week. This gives a decent-ish 9.8" of clearance. The RCI rock sliders will go on sometime later this week and that will complete the build for this rig. Still plan on picking up another trail dedicated cruiser in the next year or two and this will be the family car.

PS- KDSS sway bars are a PITA. But worth it for the extra articulation and on road handling.

After 11 years of service the Sienna's PS sliding door mechanism decided to disintegrate. $30 and an hour later I have a happy wife and kids.

New project that I picked up today....been spying for something like this since FC and then Relic really put me in the mood after the Rattlesnake sighting and bit of rainy mess....Overall in really great shape, just needs some fresh light wiring and checking of bearings, etc....but pulled home fine around the beltway back to Annapolis today! I have some plans for a few adjustments, but it's a solid start!

I was literally just looking at that add!!!

need to color match it to the 80!

Rattlesnake sighting
Lots of those things in the areas around URE. Never seen one in camp or inside the forest tho. Found a den full of babies in a hollow under some large, flat rocks a few years back about 5 miles from the forest. Creepy.

@CrabCake nice score! We’ve seen how creative dudes have gotten with those trailers.
Thanks...I'm thinking that I'd like to get the RTT deck lower for wind resistance while transporting, and either a way to raise it or at least the awning mounts higher when at a campsite. If I keep the RTT at it's current height (either fixed or movable), it also has the enclosure to go around the ladder for a stand-up privacy space for changing, etc.

I was pleasantly surprised on how easy it pulled on the highway, especially with my 4Runner...it has some suspension travel and isn't too harsh for a 1500 lb capacity, but didn't bounce around on some larger highway bumps like a smaller tire setup does. Should pull even better with a little weight.

Nice thing is that I could run it today with a quick update to the lighting wires...these were a little ghetto from the PO of the PO and actually yanked the ground off since it was a stretch for my 4-flat location on the 4Runner. One shock looks like it's leaking, so I'll get new ones, tires look decent and does have a spare rim that i need a tire for, but surge and hand brakes work fine, and shackles have grease fittings and well lubed. Just a little surface rust underneath, but zero areas of concern right now.

I'll probably put it in the backyard today and open it up...my boys and families are coming over for Pi pizza night tonight and anxious to see it!

@CrabCake nice, turnkey package and all? i've never thought much about trailers, don't have much time to use all that, have no ideal place to keep one, but now i'm super jealous!

what's the PVC pipe for?
