I've seen two 60 series Cruisers either in or going to Prescott, maybe you guys know them or have seen them. One was a dark blue 60 or 62, lifted, and had a red Chevy bowtie on the back window. The other wa a grey one, lifted, built bumper and roof-rack with a huge whip on top. Any of you guys seen them?

Ive seen a few stock 60s around town, and the one 62 I believe that has the ARB bumper, side rails, and the ladder on the side a few times.

I'm surprised somone with so many Cruiser mods doesnt seem to be on any of the local forums - maybe we'll see him somewhere tomorrow.

We will just try to agree on a meet time to get together again.
One of my customers wants to meet me at Lowe's at 10 AM on the 19th. I will try to reschedule for noon so that I can be there with you all. The 19th has turned into a busy day for me. My partner is in the Valley, and I am left holding the biz while he deals with family in the s*itty.
I will try to reschedule some things so that I can be there. If so, I will bring sample biz cards to look at. They are intended to invite all Cruisers to the meet area.

uh....wut?

Were we meeting or not meeting today? I have no idea anymore.

If we are meeting somewhere, someone give me a call -

Nine 2 Eight - Three 0 Eight - 8 Zero Zero 5.

We did sort of meet today at 10:00 or so at Fry's. Cody and I made it and talked to some others on the phone. The third Saturday at 10AM seems to work out. Instead of avoiding the third weekend because of the Tempe meet on Friday night, the next morning lets Phil E-mail up info so that we can stay informed. The PV Fry's is central, unless anyone has a better idea. If the weather is bad, we can go down the street and talk in my garage. My hut isn't fancy (what do I want for free?) but I have plenty of parking.
For those who have not been to a Tempe meet, I can describe. The Valley meet is held in a parking lot between a Sonic and a conveinence store. People and Cruisers start to gather at the appointed time. We look at trucks and tell tall tales until everbody who is going to make it is there. Then we gather in a circle and discuss club biz and future trail runs and such. When biz is done, we jack our jaws some more. We pass around a lot of tips on maintenance, repairs and modifications.
The Prescott meet would be similar, except that it is in the morning, and some of us will probably be going to a trail somewhere afterwards.
For February, we will find a place to go in the afternoon that stockers can join. So bring your ice chest and keep an eye on this thread.

P.S.
If you are following this at all, and you live in the Prescott area, PMail me and/or Cody with a phone number and other info.

Scott, glad you joined! See us at Fry's in PV the third Saturday in February at 10AM. We are thinking of planning a stock-friendly ride for the afternoon. Stoddard is on my mind, other ideas would be welcome.

Man, I was in Prescott for a VA visit (usually go to Phx, so I've only been to P-town a handful of times) and I've just barely gotten through Chino Valley (89S) and what do I see? A stockish, clean, red '60 sitting at a gas station (across from the airport, I believe). I know it's not scientific, but you fellers are thick up thar', hehe.
I can count on one hand (like 2) 60's besides my own in my area. One was passing through on 66, it seemed. I've gotta drive my 12mpg butt up there one day to one of your meet-n-greets.

Wile E, come on over! Feb is only the second month, so I don't know how many you will find there. If you give it a couple months we'll know better. There are lots of Cruisers here. Some 40's, 45's, 55's. There are plenty of 60 &80 owners that have never known of CSC or TLCA. We are working on that.

Unfortunately, I will miss this one. Stephanie and I will be cruis'in the Mojave Road for the weekend.

I'm gonna try to make it, but my truck is acting up. Hope to see you guys there. So are you guys planning on making a run after the meet and greet?

The idea of a trip that Saturday has been out there. That is why it is on Sat. AM. The location has IHOP, groceries and gas. Bring your cooler just in case.
I have to go down to the city this weekend. The direction and duration of any trip may be limited for me, but that doesn't affect the rest of you. I will be at the meeting place for sure.

PS... There will be a rare sighting of my green 80 freshly washed and waxed. No one will believe it so bring cameras!

The Feb. date was also a bit anemic. This could take a while to catch on.
A couple of us who showed up had a good time talking and planning. With some key guys out of town, and Cody wimping, it was not very big. Where were you, Cody?
Thanks to Wancho for your appearance.
Some interesting people are going to try to show in March. There is a guy who runs hunting and fishing guide runs here and in Alaska with LC's. He wore out several Fords before buying 80's that don't seem to wear out.
Expeditions West has promised to show in March. He should have a story or two! Eric Foreste is hoping to make it out. He has two 80's.
We still hope to bring in the kids who inherited mom's old 80 wagon and are not aware of what they have. We'll show them a thing or two!
We'll try to grow the club in March.

Brian,

I wanted to jump in here and say thanks for all of your work on trying to get the folks around Ptown organized. To coin a phrase used early on in the Phoenix attempts at gatherings "It's a lot like herding cats". While we always had at a minimum 3 or 4 rigs, there were times when it was hard to get even that many together.

Thanks for the support. We have some tricks that might work. The trick to herding cats is to have a lot of tuna! The tuna here would be the benefits of membership in TLCA and/or CSC. I would be glad to pass on a trick or two. They might even work! I'll P-Mail...Then call me up!

Speaking of tuna....I went wheeling on Mingus the other day with GoschBrandon - the mud and snow make those trails a BILLION times more fun.

Anyways....I met a chick out on the trail with a green LX with a few little mods. She says its her replacement for her previous 80.

I gave her one of the cards and she says shes definately interested in some local wheeling and hanging out.
