Need a bit of help here, I have a RHD 98 LC, I ordered a non-nav from a RHD overseas to swap it out, the pigtails it came with have no colors at all matching up with the diagram I see floating around. Not sure whats happened, attached here is Plug A:

Let me preface this by saying, I do not own a right hand drive Land Cruiser…

Wire color is nice for tracking individual conductors… But wire color is not essential for electric current flow. If you use the Nav Delete diagram, I know that it will work for a left-hand drive vehicle, regardless of wire color…I am not aware of any wiring differences between the right hand drive and the left-hand drive, aside from the physical repositioning of some of the controls. It certainly would have been very expensive for Mr. T to completely rewire the control interfaces as differs between left-hand drive and right hand drive… perhaps others with firsthand experience of this condition could chime in.

My issue is im very not technically inclined, and some of the ones that need to be soldered to the new pigtails are missing, not even sure where to start on that.

I would start by assigning letter and number designations to each conductor from each of the connectors. Home Depot has wire marker books of number and letters.

Chart what you have and compare to the NAV delete info.

With the information of what is missing compared to what you have, then you can pointed questions with regards to individual or groups of missing conductors. There are many members on this forum who have the complete field service manual wiring diagrams. And I am certain that if you had, precise information you were looking for, that one of our more well read brothers would respond.

It all starts with taking inventory. Where are you now and where do you need to get to?

I have spent literally hours fiddling with the connectors trying to depin them, and can't seem to figure it out. I've used the depinning tools found on Amazon, and really have hit a dead end here. Anyone in the Houston area familiar with this kind of work?

There are common pin locks on the connectors….

You have to release the pin locks BEFORE de-pinning any individuals.

You have to release the pin lock so that you can remove individual pins…

One you remove the common pin lock, you can proceed to remove your selected pins individually.

i'm in houston and can show you how to depin the connectors.

Just completed and works as expected. Thank you to everyone who put it such and tremendous amount of great work!
A comment on the Updated non-nav pinouts-1 PDF that I used. There are a 3 callouts that don't provide a source location and don't provide a description. I just ignored them...No immediate ill affects, but I'll update if that changes.

Where did you get the non nav radio bezel?

E-Bay
I went with a 98-02 Lexus bezel. Had all buttons, no knobs except for temperature.
It was faux wood, which I read could be pealed off to reveal the black underneath. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE! So I painted it black.
Went the re-pin route.
Replaced all board level switches and lights on the new unit while I had it apart for painting.

Can you post a photo of your work? I always like to see completed projects and especially complex ones.

Still early stages of the entire project.
Entire new audio system going on now.

Teaching my son about the universe of difference between “I’ve done this before.” And “I’m sure I can figure this out.” has been pretty amusing.
