Who all is running this setup? I decided to give them a try. I ordered the front cross drilled and slotted rotors and brake pads. I will be installing them on my 93 as soon as they come in. I see Slee sells them as well, but I found a good deal on Ebay and went ahead with them. I will also report back after getting them on.

Loved my PowerStop Rotors but I ended up running GreenStuff pads and they were great. I started with OEM pads by the composition has been changed since the asbestos era is over and they glazed like monkeys so I switched to the GreenStuffs.

Looking for a complete write up on these. My brakes seem to be just fine as stock but I am haven't been loaded down or towing any trailers lately either.

Trap, any reason you didnt use the Power Stop pads?

I bought my PowerStops from Slee and got OEM pads from Cdan/Beno, when the OEMs glazed I went straight to GreenStuffs because it seemed like the opposite direction as the OEM's and I had heard good things about their stopping abilities (albeit at the expense of longevity)

After extensive research I also purchased the Powerstop Ebay special.

Have been running them for a little over 6 months. They replaced my original Toyota setup which had about 100,000 miles on them and were tired. I replaced everything including the calipers (NAPA) and all hardware. Everything replacable got replaced.

My truck now stops like a champ, I am still utterly amazed at the difference. I would not hesitate to purchase again. If you step on the brakes hard and your head almost doesn't go through the windshield, there is something wrong.

And just to clarify I am a Toyota sackrider. Nothing goes on my truck that isn't OEM or better. I was very hesitant about purchasing "Ebay Specials" for such an important part of my truck. But all my research and reading all the great reviews from people that actually owned them, I pulled the trigger, and couldn't be happier.

Could live without the cross drill/slots but whatever.

Got them in today. Quick shipping! I will take some pics and I hope to have them installed this weekend or early next week. :D

I have powerstop rotors and pads on the front and haven't had any problems. I plan on doing the rear with powerstop as well. I haven't noticed any braking performance upgrade, however they seem to stay cooler when heading down a mountain pass.

I did PowerStop front and rear from Slee and stock pads from Cdan. All pulsation gone and they stop much better than the OEM. I would do this again...

You don't need ceramic pads AFAIK.

I got the Powerstop slotted rotors all around and EBC greenstuff pads. Pretty happy with it a few years and 10-20k miles later. Last time I checked the pads, I was impressed that they had plenty of life left.

Just a word to wise don't buy the Autozone $80 ceramic pads:flipoff2:....They lasted 2 months on my stock rig I did not drive it that much. Lasted 3 months on my brothers 4runner...I never had pads get used up so fast...:meh:

UPDATE

Still have a few other things to finish up before testing. I will report back when tested!

I have the same ones awaiting an install. I'm a little nervous about undertaking the brake job BC I want to do the birfs at the same time.

rotors and pads

I have been running the front powerstop slotted and drilled rotors with thier ceramic pads for 10 months with 0 issues. I also flushed and am running synthetic brake fluid, never stopped better!! Will do the rears when work allows.

I ran the Powerstop rotors for 125K miles and used 4 sets of Hawk semi metallic pads over that time. Metallic pads aren't used on OEM rotors because the excellent bite they provide and their wear resistance wears OEM rotors unevenly. Slotted/crossdrilled rotors work very well with metallic pads since they continually clean and resurface when brakes are applied. Stopping was excellent and the rotors always had a nice surface. I could have gone longer but I ran a pad down too far and grinded on one of the rotors.

I now run Powerslot cryo'd rotors with the same pads with similar stopping results. Stopping maybe a tad better, but I am expecting much better longevity even though the previous Powerstops probably would have gone another 25-50K miles. Cryo'd Slotted/crossdrilled rotors are expected to go 500K miles, used with metallic pads.

I also switched to synthetic Dot 4 fluid when the calibers were replaced a few years back.

I did PowerStop front and rear from Slee and stock pads from Cdan. All pulsation gone and they stop much better than the OEM. I would do this again...

X2

After 4 or 5 years and 30k miles my Powerstop rotors are going strong on stock pads which I may upgrade to the greenstuff next!

Hey Trap, what series green stuffs pads did you run?
2000, 6000 or 7000 series?
