Well, I drove it for a bit last night with the new brakes. Everything is working fine and it stops pretty well. Feels much better than the worn out stuff did. I will probably be doing the rears before too long.

LOL! No, not really. Just tired, haha. I am actually very happy with them so far. I feel the truck actually drives better, but that could just be in my head. :D I also rebuilt the axle (passenger side, did the driver side about 1k miles ago due to a birf needing replaced) while I was doing all of this, so that probably contributes to the overall better feel.

I have the powerstop pads and rotors on my 95 and I love them. I work at 4Wheel Parts in OKC and we sell A LOT of these. My experience is that my cruiser stops in about half the distance it did before. I will eventually do these on the rear as they are awesome.

I finished up the rears last night, including rebuilding the axle with seals, bearings, etc. The rear axle is way easier than the front. I had to replace a few of the axle/hub studs, but they actually came out pretty easily. New Power Stop rotors and pads for the rear, with new/refurb OEM calipers.

What brand are your calipers? And where did you get them?
I'm going to do the same as you with my 80; 4 new rotors, calipers and pads.

The calipers are OEM/Toyota. I got them from American Toyota through cruiserdan here on MUD. He can be reached at 800-432-6668, ask for Dan and tell him MUD sent ya.

Any re-packing needed in replacing the front rotors? I'm about to do my brakes and now I'm convinced in getting all powerstop rotors and greenstuff pads.

I dont have any experience with the brake performance rotors, so I cant give an opinion on them. I am happy with the powerstop so far.

I have tried powerstops and cryo'd powerslots. Both are outstanding. The cryo'd powerslots will last 3-4Xs longer, but are twice as expensive. Both will enable the use of high performance semi metallic or metallic pads without grooving the rotors or the presence of noise.

Just did the rears on my 80. From my research the best price is from www.thebrakeguys.com

Just received the front rotors, they should be going on in the next week

For those of you wondering, here are the part numbers for easy ordering (where ever that may be from)

Rears K1156
Fronts K1154

How much were they?
