i need to know if this pump will work with my set up. it came off my 350 before i removed it. also will the pulley on it work also? man-a-fre wants a butt load of money for the pump and pulley, about $5 shy of 200

i am also trying to piece together a kit. basically if this pump and pulley work, i need the mounting bracket and hoses (have the box already on the frame and lukes crossover steering. anything else i am not thinking of? trying to keep this as cheap as possible as im trying to stay on budget at the moment, so far i have failed tremendously :D i heard of a guy named bill dorey makes them, but i have heard he might have stopped making them. if he is still in business could someone let me get his info

Need steering gear box from a mini or FJ 60. A bracket or room to mount the gear box. Someone else is making brackets for bill dorey(I think) now....a search will give you his name.

i thought saginaw steering used all chevy parts. sorry if i forgot the mention its a saginaw set up

i have the gear box already and the plate is already welded onto the frame rail.

There are several threads on the proper pulley, you can use a volvo (metric sag pump) pulley from a 240DL (80-85) or buy one. A narrow sized sheave may cause belt wear and squeal. Search saginaw pump, pulleys etc. Many have posted part #s from different auto parts places, bearing, pulleys, spacers etc. I just run a volvo pulley and pump as I got tired of trying to deal with cross-referencing part numbers to napa #'s. I only have napa, car quest, advance (crap) and auto zone (crap) locally.

If you need hoses they are available from JT outfitters should you not want to deal with having one made at a hydraulic shop. I had mine made for about 40 bucks I think (also with low presure fitting made).

Bill Dorry has stopped making the brackets but someone else here is making them with Bill's paterns. A search will show this. Look under my personal threads and postings and you'll find the info your looking for. good luck and enjoy a new toyota experience with PS!!!

which brackets? for the box or pump? is it goin on a f or 2f? are you planning on putting pump on drivers side or passs side? im in the prcess doing this same thing....i got my pltes for the box / frame from gorg(damn screen name escapes me)

Hi All:

Yeah, that PS pump should work fine on the 2F in your rig.

Your belt might be a little wide to fit the groove on that pump , but the pump itself will work .

yes thanks alan

now what you need to do is take it to autozone tell them your me and get a new one.

ah the beauty of lifetime warranties

Napa # 20-6000. Does not include res. cap or pulley/pulley nut.

IIRC it was ~ $60 several years ago.

$60 is alot cheaper than jtoutfitters. might as well try mine and if it doesn't work go ahead and pick up a new one at autozone.

i ordered some parts tonight, and ordering some more tomorrow, so next week should be a fun week to work on my 40. hoping to get it to a rolling chassis again.
