Hey Ken, have you looked at getting an FJ62 hard line set up? that's what I get when converting an FJ60 over to a 12HT. the 62 lines plug into a LHD steering box and run across to the pump and reservoir on the RHD side. I believe you'r doing a 2H which has the same steering set up as a 12HT.

Hey Jim. When I look up the 62 line in the schematics, it looks like it would work for me. But when I go to rockauto or similar, it doesn't look like the same part. Do you have a part number of what you bought?

So I don’t know the part # as I grabbed a used one from a part out. I can take some pictures of the set up if that would help. I’ll be home tomorrow.

Looks like 44410-60130, but NLA from Toyota.

Yeah, I found that part number too. But if you go to Rockauto as @MrMacdugal suggested above, one of the parts is Gates 368900 (see image), but it doesn't quite look the same as the Toyota part schematics.

I think either way, I'm going to order this Gates line. It looks like at least the steel bent line will work for me, even if I have to cut off the end where it connects to pump and use my old fitting.

The Gates line is aluminum. It fits on FJ-62's well. Couldn't say how it will do on your HJ.

Just circling back on this to summarize what I did to sort out a replacement for my rusted out HJ60 line; maybe this will help someone in the future with a similar problem.

I ended up ordering the Gates line (part 368900). It matches my HJ60 line up until it hits the passenger (RH) side frame rail. So I cut it off there, and did the same to my original HJ60 line (which was in good shape at this point).

I took the whole mess to a local hose and fitting shop, and had them connect things up with the proper fittings. I've made notes on the attached photos, but there are a couple of things that are noteworthy here:
  1. The original Toyota line is 10mm diameter, and thick steel
  2. The replacement Gates line is 3/8" diameter, and thinner steel
  3. The Gates line was not aluminum (at least mine wasn't)
Now that I have it all connected up, I just have to replace a couple of the clamps along the front frame rail. and do a bunch of paint touch-ups before I install the rad support and fenders.

I really like things to look factory/original, so I'm happy with the result of this. But, if I have issues in the future, I'll probably abandon this setup and just get a flexible stainless line. I won't have this tested out for a while yet, but the hose tech said he saw absolutely zero issues.
