I want to put a sag pump on my f motor will these 2f sag brackets work?

I used the same pump mount (from Bill Dorry) on a '74 F motor and a '77 2F. They mount the same.

The power sterring pump bracket on a 2f use 4plus sold by man a fre. The mounting bracket for the steering box is easly fabricated. Take two steel plates shapped the same. Weld the first plate to your frame. The second plate is mounted with your sagnaw box with shimmed pieces of pipe. The sagnaw box has different heights on the four mounting points. Take the shimmed pieces of pipes and weld to plate and drill holes. On the backside of the plate bevel for inset allen heads to attach. clamp the plates to together and and attach drill two holes on the top and two on the bottom. Tap the plate that is welded to frame and attach. I can take my box off in about 5 minutes.

Late model 60 pump

I was going to put a late model FJ60 pump and mount in my 40 on a 1986 2F block but I am not running a smog pump.

To anyone running this, what are you doing for belt tension? I see $OR used to sell an idler/tensioner but it is no longer available.

Edit: Disregard the question. I guess I will tension it on the alternator. I need to figure out a tensioner for the water pump I guess. (And I see Jim C used to sell what I need or maybe I could put another alternator over there. Or use this https://forum.ih8mud.com/1471469-post5.html)

I have purchased one of the head bolt mounted power steering pump brackets. Are there any issues with mounting the bracket to your head bolts? Do I need to replace the head bolts with longer bolts? Does anyone know what they need to be torqued to?
Thanks
Ben

I purchased the Saginaw power steering pump bracket from Iron Pig. The bracket is not shown on their website that I could find. The quality of the bracket is excellent however the head bolt holes do not align with the two offset head bolts on the 2F engine, see 13 and 11 on the image attached. We had to file them out to get them to get the belts to line up. I email Iron Pig and they said that they were unaware of this issue. Has anyone else experience this?

I'm not familiar with the Iron Pig bracket, but I bought one from JT Outfitters that mounts the same way. On it the holes were slotted so that you could adjust back and forth for pulley alignment.I'm guessing that's what you probably need to do to yours.
Hope this helps.

It adjusts front to back just fine but not side to side to account for the offset head bolts. Do you see how the front head bolt or #13 is set back about 1/4"?

Hmmmmmm, I don't recall my head bolts being offset like that. I'll look at mine in the morning and see if I can assist.

Another option is to run an electric hydraulic pump.

Uses around 6A at idle, 30-40amp while turning and 60amp at full lock.

Should be able to source from a wreckers for ~$50ish.

Pump was common on some model Astras, MR2, Vectra from the mid 2000s.
