We never received the "Poverty Pack" 100 in the US. It was usually the cheapest, most basic Land Cruiser and also the most reliable. Reliable because it had just the bare bones.

Well, here's your chance to delete all that unnecessary :poop: lol! All PN's are for 98-02 unless stated otherwise.

Electric Brake Booster/ABS/ATRAC Delete
-I have not seen anybody do this mod yet but somebody might be interested! I checked and Toyota uses these components with our same brake calipers. It would also require a F/R proportioning valve. Not sure how one would deal with the ABS/ATRAC errors.

Thanks for putting this together! I've always liked the look of the "poverty pack" Land Cruisers (of all series) and just recently did a trim delete modification on mine!

did any 100 have roll up windows? door cards with pull handles?

I wouldn't mind having that lower antenna standoff/bracket, the tundra fixed antenna has no bracket. (make your own)
I want the rear heat delete, never found the right hoses to buy and wouldn't do it until I took the intake off and looked at the crossover water pipe. DOn't know if they're different.
I also want the space free where the rear AC unit is.
rear ac delete is this winter, UNLESS new evap and condenser fix my little leak.
I figure, why stop now. I've deleted so much.

They did have manual windows. The internal mechanism is not that expensive but the door cards make it very expensive. And they are quite different than the power window door cards... and so you can't just install manual windows with our door cards.

If you remove your rear AC, the 1998 passenger side rear panels will give you about 3" of more width in the trunk area. But I would probably just keep the panels as is and use the internal space for other things. A water tank/bladder would be nice.

As always, very informative thread with part numbers and pictures. Thank you.

Now having said that - this is an awesome first world problem:D!
Spend good money to strip off the luxury options to go to the basic version. Meanwhile, rest of the world wants to spend money to add these luxury add ons to their basic trucks!!

Haha, tell me about it. Spend more for less! I don't mind the luxury features actually, that's why I drive an LX!:) I have a bare bones 70 series and I curse it when I accidentally leave the headlights on. There's no chime to tell me I left it on nor any automatic shut-off! lol.

Moving on... a lot of Poverty Pack (PP) cruisers come with D-pillar steps....

There might be additional internal differences but I haven't really looked into it that far. These part numbers will get you started.

if anyone finds the door cards # with roll up windows please post it. I've looked all night and not found on partsouq or t-diy

So this is basicly turning the 100 into a 105 with IFS? It's interesting though that the 105 only came in poverty edition, still the value of it is almost the double of the 100:)

You could get a 105 GXL here - carpet, power windows, cloth trim, front 'bucket' seats rather than the bucket + bench, lift up/fold down tailgate rather than barn doors, etc.

Did they ever come with an automatic transmission &/or leather?

Yes to auto transmission, but I've never seen one with leather. I did see what appeared to be a 105 badged GXR which I think is a UAE trim - was driving so couldn't get into a position to have a look at the interior

I wonder if it was an import pre-05 when you could do such things here, because to my knowledge Toyota never sold a GXR trim here

You can get a non-leather AT shift knob too. Available in US for about $75:
