Hmm, duplicate post.

Let's go with this...

From the FSM, pointing the slip yolk toward the front of the vehicle.
I assume that is for both front and read shafts?
The guy at the drive shaft shop said you can run them facing either direction, but he likes the slip yolk at the transfer case end, to keep them out of the water as much as possible.

Your thoughts?

Also, note how the FSM shows the grease nipples for the yolks arranged on either side of the slip yolk nipple:

What clutch did you go with?
I went with the Aisin kit. OE parts, and the slave cylinder cost about 1/2 the cost of the Toyota p/n. If you look at the slave cylinder box, it has the Toy p/n printed on the label:

It sounds like to fill the H55 and split case, I need a little over 7 liters. Thirsty gal...

What type of gear oil do y'all like to run in the H55?

'Scuse me while I whip this out...

The first thing the guy at the driveline shop did was pull the rear DS slip yolk off and line the front and back u-joints up. They had been off for a long time...

It feels good to fix little things like that.

I use Redline MT90.

EDIT...I had to delete a quote from the 40 forum.

Same. I run MT90 in all my manual transmissions.
Everything I found on the topic is to run GL4 gear oil - it is supposed to be the best for brass synchros.
I wanted to fill these boxes before the shafts come back, so I went to find some suitable product locally. NAPA had gallon jugs of Sta-Lube straight 90. $70/gallon.

Does anyone run Penn Grade GL4?

The GL4 is supposed to be nice to the yellow metals (brass).
