I think my favorite day of the week definitely has to be new bike day.

I really loved my first gen smuggler-still would like to get a newer one. Such a sweet ride.
First ride was great but it's going to take a bit to get used to it. Other than a couple rides a year on my wife's Tallboy 3, my primary mountain bike is a single speed Ti hardtail. Not much overlap in the Venn diagram between the SS and the Smuggler.

Hey Jim:

Off the shelf RockShock probably. It's going to be suspension. I'm middle-aged. I want comfort.
I forget shocks exist because I love old rigid ATB/MTBs so much haha!

Radon Swoop Enduro (2015)

Didn't use it that much the first 10 years, mainly for occasional downhill. More frequently now being more active and since its easy to just throw into the back of the Cruiser :) Recently replaced the brakes (SRAM -> Shimano) as they were toast despite the low mileage. Hopefully the japanese tech will hold up better.

Back on my bvll****…

My partner and I want to do some light bikepacking. I already have that 84 Trek ATB that could be kitted out nicely for dirt roads, but she didn’t have anything. So I’ve been watching Martkeplace, which I’m always looking at anyway…

1984 Miyata Terra Runner. Miyata-made plain gauge CroMo tubing and mostly original components, including the cool bullmoose stem. She wanted a rigid ATB like my Trek, and one of the main criteria was a lugged fork crown because we both think it looks way better than a unicrown fork. Silly, I know, but whatever.

Anyway, this thing is long and slack and really comfortable to ride. There will be some mods soon: Brooks B17, new stem and swept back bars, early Suntour thumbies, new tires, etc. updates to follow.

Your partner looks bored in the picture, and her paws are going to need a different kind of handlebar grips. Did she alert her fork crown preference with a bark or a pointer-stance?

j/k. Looks like you're going to be having some fun adventuring on some sweet classics
