Drove Paso de Cortez between the 2nd and 3rd highest peaks in Mexico. It’s a chill volcanic ash dirt road with great views up to 11,200’. Got close to the old altitude record for the LJ, but not quite.

Not a moded 70 series. But cool to see a 75 in the MSM thanks to Stever Irwins son Twitting or whatever it is called. Will be cool if he installs his P plates on it and keeps on driving it.

Nice spotting but thats a 79 series. Just an early one. Powered by either the 1HD-FTE, 1HZ or rarely here in aus the 1FZ-FE.

Spent 5 weeks down in NZ's South Island through Feb & March. Here's some pics from the first couple of weeks, still sorting the rest.

West coast picnic:

With the borders closed to tourists the scenic South Westland roads were pretty quiet.

Some random river we camped up in Southland:

Great pics @clintnz

Did NZ only receive the light duty LC's? Or did you and your guys import those in from Japan?
Being RHD & with minimal import restrictions NZ has had used car dealers importing used JDM stuff for a long time. I think all the LJ7* & KZJ7* here are used imports from Japan, same with the MWB 73/74's. We have always had the 70 series utes & troopys available new here, (& some heavy duty 70 SWB way back) but they never sold in big numbers until the VDJ came out. Nowadays the 79's are slowly becoming more common, 76's are available new but rare.
What kinda rear bike rack are we seeing here?
 Clint Custom. Attaches to the (also custom) tyre carrier.

The alu top section has been rebuilt since these pics to fit our current bikes a bit better & for this last trip I added a removable brace down from the spare lugs to stiffen it up for hardcore offroad.

It's beautiful! Great work. Fork mounted, rear, hitch mount, swingout. you're ticking a LOT of boxes.

Did some work on the cooling system so I had to take it out for a test drive. Still some odds and ends to sort out with the engine swap, but it's getting there. Really impressed with the way the little 1.9 can idle up obstacles.

@pradon35s Great looking rig! I have a couple questions for you. Can you post some pictures or tell me how you mounted those fender liner/ splash guards? I have some similar ones, but can't bring myself to start drilling holes. Also, out of curiosity, how high was your rear tire off the ground in this picture? That is some nice flex for a 70 series!
Its just bunnings garden edging 😆😆 and I just drilled and used stainless rivets to mount it. Unsure on height of the wheel sorry but it was maximum before the front started to life.

Finally had a chance to go wheeling while in socal. Bar work is still in progress. Rear tire carrier almost done.

Warn 8274 getting rebuilt, Aux lights on backorder.

Currently on OEM suspension, with custom offset FJ60 wheels. 255/85R16 Toyo M55s. For stiff snow tires, they did great in the dirt / rocks at 20psi.
