I love your Tencha, BTW. I want to chop the top on mine in the worst way, but it isn't giving me any excuses! Maybe after a few . Actually, where is the keg icon?

thanks dude .. and about the roof, isn't your bit rusted .. that was my first step .. ;)

So it isn't a landcruiser, but this is the hardcore section... My FJ60 is inop, so this is it right now. Checking out the flex after putting the 16.00R20's on it. The old girl can twist!

I am actually standing right next to the tire. I am almost 6'. That's a deceptively deep ditch.

No slip whatsoever, even with street pressure. Detroit no-spins in both rears helps...

Now if I could only find a trail around here it will fit on... :p
I must learn more of this vehicle of yours.
Start a thread, please!

Got some frame twist too! look at the body panels at the fender and hood!

Buddy of mine has a deuce and a half like that but still has the stock sized uni treads on it, its fun to watch him run some of our wider local trails. but even more fun when you watch him try and steer it with the lack of power steering!!

That is a really cool ride, tell us the specs man.......

nothing too special specs wise...

started life as an fj40.. due to a rusted tub i did the 45 conversion about 10 years ago now with an aluminum tub from aqualu. i stretched the fj40 frame 14 inches. i used one of my spare fj45 beds, hardtop, tailgate to make the rest of the truck.. about 5 years ago i bent the frame and blew a headgasket all within the same month or so and went a little different direction..

now it sits as:

-3b 4cylinder toyota diesel
-h55f 5 speed
-splitcase
-springover and shackle reversal
-60 series rolling chasis including 60 series steering, axles(3 inches wider than the 40 series stuff) and frame.
-60 series rear springs both front and rear. front springs flipped for extra wheelbase
-4.10s in the diffs
-onboard air
-dual batteries
-bilstien shocks
-custom raised front fenders
-ruffstuff traction bar brackets
-37"x13.5x17 toyos
-cheapo motometal aluminum rims
-1.5 inch wheel spacers front and back
-longfields and long hub gears
-6 shooter knuckles
-marlin seals where i can and new marlin 4 pattern flanges
-upgraded dom .120 wall driveshafts
-4x4 labs 6 stud arms with one ton tie rod ends
-tilt steering column from a 60 sereis cruiser
-acura rsx seats
-8274 winch

Really diggin' your rig fj-rankenstein. Nice job! If I didn't have extra bodies to haul around that would be a great truck. I'll have to wait until my golden years.

Yeah rankenstein the best looking 45 I have seen actually. Nice mix of 'stock/resto' looking but very capable, I assume. I am looking to go 62 axles under my 40 with 37s, I hope to have it come out something like yours:smokin:

Great thread keep em comin!

thanks guys!! i appreciate all the great comments..
i am hoping by this time next year the truck sees arb's front and rear, a toybox, and a turbo setup from diesel42 here on the forum.. i have a set of 4.88s waiting to go in the diffs but am waiting for arb to come out with their next special deal.. i dont want to tear into my diffs twice if i dont have to..

proper bumpers.. yes, bumpers.. i need to make some nice bumpers. i am going to get my spare tire out of the box and on some kind of swing out tire carrier to make more room in the box for cargo.. it was a bit tight to pack for two people and 3 days on the trail..

only then i will consider the truck done.. (not that our trucks are ever done.....)

Glad you had a good time on the rubicon. The truck is even better in person, one badass 45

Some awesome cars in here
