Jason, That sounds like some pretty serious news. Get on some good meds, find a TV series or something to watch and stay out of the shop! I'll keep you in my thoughts brother.

I appreciate it! I need to stay lightly active though (for a few more weeks anyway).... This gives me a chance to get some much needed design work finished up and in SolidWorks for the storage panels, door cards and storage drawers.

Maybe a few light loaded trips to Spokane as well.

Let me know when you have time to talk - Dx'd a tear, what imaging was used? Let's chat. . .

All fabrication orders are finalized............

I dropped the skid plate on Poppy this afternoon. I'll change the TC seal tomorrow between Monstaliner coats on the trailer.

On another note... I may be out a little longer than planned. I talked to my old boss today and he has a 6-10 week DOT-192 FED analysis gig. It will be huge $$$$ and it will keep me from lifting anything for a few weeks so I can heal up. I told him I'd let him know in a few days.

J

I'm trying to keep myself away from things so I can heal up.
This was the only way that worked for me . After wrist surgery last summer, the dog and I spent a lot of time walking the mountains far away from the garage. I didn't even walk through it to get in the truck to go out.
Good luck with all!

If I take the gig I'll fly to Pittsburgh and rent a sedan........ That should keep me inline.....

Aw, s***... I know what a bad back means, that's no fun. And absolutely impossible to rest that area. I've been barely hanging on to my back since '08 with a broken pelvis and torn back.

Good luck, get well!

P

P, As long as I don't lift anything very heavy (40-60#) I'm pretty good and can function decently.

Eventually the back seems to do all us fabricators in. Two years, this September, since my back surgery and it's still only about 60~70 %
and that's on a restricted lifting and work schedule. I'm pretty sure I'll be on my 800 mg Ibruphen, two aspirin, and a tramadol regimen,
twice daily for the rest of my working life....which means I die of either Kidney or liver failure......with bumper in my hand.
Given the choice of completely stopping, it's like the sage said " There's little difference between a long life or a short life, both are just moments in time. It's what you do with those moments "

I just read the part about your back, sorry to hear about it, that really sucks. About ten years ago I hurt my back during a helicopter raid, it was pretty much the beginning of the end of my infantry days. It still flairs up, but what I found that has really helped me is an inversion table. Do 10 minutes when you wake up and ten minutes before you go to bed and you'll feel so much better. I won't cure you, but it will relax you A LOT. Hope you get better soon, happy independence day.

I tried the inversion table but I kept spilling my beer
place it on the floor, use a straw, never ever let anyone see you drink beer that way

I'm just glad its a muscle injury and not vertebra/spine related. Been doing the Tram and Lodine combo for almost 12 years. I refuse to go back on Vicodin or Darvocet/Norco combo....

I'll just relax and play it by ear.
