Looking for a hefty slab of bacon to start on my dream build. Parts from 3-4 generations of Cruisers will be combined once it’s done.

Does not need to run or have good tires, just not Swiss cheese body panels. I don’t expect to find a super super super clean one for $10k, but one that does not need 150 hours or $15k in body work, that has most of its parts, for $8-10k sounds fair.

I’m located in Alabama but willing to travel and/or ship.

Thanks!!

Interested to see what your vision of a “dream pig” is.

Start completely fresh...

B+ to A- body
-probably a dark green/white
-Some sound proofing
-Freshened up 3FE
-H55
-Split case
-80 axles/suspension
-assisting airbags in rear for towing
-Manual hubs
-Power steering
-Giant fuel tank
-low profile winch? Or 8274?
-35”s
-16/17” black steel wheels
-A/C
-Bright lights
-BT radio
-crossbars for boats and lumber
-Probably a simple swing out rear bumper to hold 35”? Maybe it’ll stay inside?
-Be able to tow a small tear drop camper with me and a kid or two from Alaska to Alabama summer of 2021 and be a real daily driver.

I drive my pig x4 days a week, but it’s not quite a DD with as many miles a year I drive. Like 15-20k miles a year.

Similar to what @cruiserjunktion has, but with a manual.

80s are some of the best driving/wheeling full bodied 4x4s ever. Get that suspension/big bearings/brakes/birfs, then a simple tractor motor, lots of gears, and obviously the best body Toyota ever made. AND it’s a relatively budget dream rig.
I have a wrecked ‘92 behind the shop waiting for a body.

I spent 8 years in the infantry and now 8+ flying helicopters, there is no reason for me to tough it out on leaf springs in my dream truck. I smile non stop driving the pig now, even bouncing down the road, smile bigger with coil springs and 2 more gears.

I’d like to get another and build it patiently, then sell mine. I just got some real shop space for the first time in my life and putting in a lift next few weeks. Opens up all kinds of opportunities.

....deep thoughts for me....

.....My dream at least....

If you’re going to run the 80 axles and suspension, why not run the 1FZ and a H55F?

Thinking about it. There is a adapter from Down Under I believe. I’d do the HG on it when had it apart. Only issue I’ve had.

Mosley Motorsports is supposed to be working on an cut down harness/ sniper efi/ for them. Be super nice.

I’m scared of wires and feel like the 3FE is a simpler motor. Maybe I should quit being a scaredy-cat.

there is a 1FZ carb (incl head) setup in the classifieds. Thought about it for my pig to keep it “old skool”, but then decided that EFI was going to be more drivable.

My '94 FZJ75 pickup has the 1FZ with a carb and it has all the power I would ever want. Of course a pig weighs more......

Start completely fresh...

B+ to A- body
-probably Nebula green/white
-Some sound proofing
- Two snorkels
- Bull bar
- Roof Top Tent
- MAXTRAX mounted to my roof rack.
- Hi-lift jack
- Five or six light bars, I’d like to have more but I don’t want to overdo it.

Sounds like a solid plan!!

I think a tuned, rebuilt, 3FE is a very reliable, easy to work on engine. I’m not looking for a ton of power, just reliable Toyota power. No adapters needed to run H55.

This is what I would like to do!

I bet Deo @cruiserjunktion could talk you through that! Or maybe you would have to talk with Frank...

I’m not cool enough for all that. I’m cool like 1992 rebuilt 3FE cool  yeah.... I’m as good as 1992 was...

my wife calls Nebula green “peppermint” and my youngest son son said it hurt his eyes.

No peppermint/eye burning trucks at my house.
