I have a couple of hand held radios
You have FM UHF (GMRS) hand held Baofeng.
We all use frequency 146.460000 at all the past pig parties.
If we do the same here then us old-timers are good, if they want something different then we will need to do some programing is the reason I'm asking the question now...
I can bring 4 if all the batteries take a charge.

Jeff and I are on GMRS. I’m sure we can tune to the channel you’ve used in the past.
I just drug out my old laptop and it looks like I programed a bunch of these in 2017 at a pig party.
I know for a fact most of us don't know how to program them on the unit itself so if you're willing to work with us then we will just bring what we have and figure it out at camp.

Yall should buy yourselves a good Bendix King, and stop playing with childrens toys.
They're dirty dirt cheap right now because everyone in the government wants disposable digital radios.
You can drive over a King and expect it to still work, whereas other radios may not survive...

and stop playing with childrens toys.
As silly as it sounds none of us plan to run our toys over but most of us have multiples and if one happens to die by tire we'll be okay.
for the most part we use our toys to tell Ron his paper map is upside-down again and he needs to turn left.
Not sure we need a mans Bendix King for what we do but thanks for the advice.👍

No need to program the Baufeng. It makes it easier but I have the manual conversion guide so you can just punch in the number.

I use two tin cans and a string. Or drums if the string breaks. Next is smoke signals, but that was when I burned house down at 7. :bounce2:

My AV guys quote “electonics bairly works bairly”

I left Ojai last night at 7 and pulled the sheets over my head in Victorville.
On the road this morning, arrived Saint George 1:00 pm Utah time.

Lucky Evan lives here, he’s going to get my alterator repaired tomorrow so that when any alterations that take place I won’t get stranded or lose contact with myself.

Just so I'm clear are we using frequency 146.460000 or one of the others you listed?

We can use 146.460 as long as everyone has a multi frequency radio. The list above is in case someone only has an FRS or GMRS radio with simple channels without HAM capability. Baofeng radios have all three. 146 is a HAM channel.

Morning good news. As we all know, I have a screw loose somewhere.

We found one this morning.

Me atlerator adjustment bolt broke. So no intelligent information was able to supply enough intel to my batrys.

Had a great visit with Evan and back on the road, too no idea where.

Safe travels to all.

Glad it was a simple fix! Drive safe.

So so so Sorry to have that happen to you. We all know all to well how the excitement balloon getting popped can be so disheartening.:frown:

Glad and hope that you personally are not damaged

Will tip a cocktail to you

Gordo...do you bring that mechanical black cloud with you from Ojai or do you just pick up a random one on the road to Pig Parties? At least it was a minor fix this time compared to your journey to Rico!
