Chef J Mack, what's on the menu! :) I had a guy buy a goat from me one time and cooked it like you described in a pit. I don't know if one of my goats would like the trip out west though. Maybe we can put together a pot luck dinner one night.

I can bring the "carne adovada". I might have to supply the Tums and Pepto as well, for those that can't handle the heat.;)
 
I live in San Diego. Around here it isn't called Mexican food, it's just called food. You bring some adobada and I'm a happy camper...literally.
 
I have a BBQ food truck. I can bring some pulled pork and brisket and some yummy breakfast burritos...
 
So there are no sites available for 21-25. One site is available from the 21st to saturday, but not saturday night. I will probably go ahead and grab it, but there are no sites available saturday night. We will have 2 rigs (gf will be driving her FJC or my 100 as a "support vehicle" as we cannot fit all our crap for 2 people and 2 dogs in the pig) and our camping trailer. Should we find another camping option nearby for anyone else who wants to join in the piggie fun??

It does say there are some first come/fist serve sites available...wonder if I could snag one Staurday at noon, or if the "first come first serve" sites would be available to choose on Tuesday when we get there. Worth a phone call I guess.

We have similar issues but we are getting close to having a good system for these longer trips.

cool! I have never seen those boxes, will definitely check them out.

Should have my Ruger camping trailer by then, plus the new Gamiviti roof rack :) so I will have options.

She likes driving her truck anyway. Good to have a backup plan!
 
The Vikings burned their boats once they landed so they'd have no option but to soldier on. Throw everything in the Pig and head to Rico...no options.
 
FYI: Clayton CG sits at the West side (hwy 145) of the Bolam Pass trail. It's all USFS land once you head away from the pavement. LOTS of hunt/camp sites just up the trail.... I would not sweat not having a secured campground site unless a pit toilet is needed to keep the :princess: happy.
